I wish to thank cabbott for your support and prayers.

My mom had a bone scan done she has stage 3 adenocarcinoma non small cell. She is doiing chemo right now. Her bone scan came back highly suspious for mets. to the bone. They saw a sediment on the pubic bone. I know what this means they prob. can't confirm until they do a biopsy of it. Trying to get ahead of the game here. How would they treat this when she is doing chemo already would they do radiation. Could it really be benign? I just need to know how others went about treatment. I know the doctor will def. give her some sort of treatment. They told her they would do a x-ray of that bone and to let the oncologist know aboutthe results. any information would be great.

thanks to all and god bless all of you. I know what a roller coaster this is for everyone.

My husband's onc suspected bone mets on my husband and started him on a once monthly IV of Zometa. It's my understanding that radiation is only done when they mets cause pain. Good luck to your mom and let us know what happens.

He had a CT scan at the 3 month mark in July. Bone scan is scheduled for next week and then at the end of October it will be a "full body scan including the brain".

The oncologist is ordering a MRI now. I think of just the area of the pelvic bone that they saw the spot. Hopefully it is not cancerous. He said that would def. tell them if it is mets or not. Thank you for your answers. I wish your husband the best.
