Update on my husband's situation

So, we went to see the surgeon today. We feel a bit better having a plan now, but we were kind of blindsided by the news - it has definietly spread to the liver and now we find out that it has spread to the lung. They want him to have the colon tumor surgery first then do chemo to attack the liver and lung.

So, now we have a plan. Now we have something to work with.

I will write more when I have more time.

    You're not alone here.
    My mom is in the same boat. Take this one day at a time and one step at a time. It's far too easy to get supremely overwhelmed if you don't stay focused to the task at hand. I'm praying for you, it does get easier. I've been dealing with this as a caretaker for almost a year now. Be strong!

    I'm sorry about the diagnosis, but I do think it's good to know exactly what you're dealing with. Sounds like there's a lot ahead for the two of you, so take care of yourself and get lots of rest.

    It's such a helpless feeling when you have no plan and insufficient information. I am glad you andyour husband are getting a plan together and you are gaining some sense of control over this disease. It's a very empowering feeling.

    Sounds like you are in good hands and have a good plan of attack - go forth and kill them little buggers!

    Hi,

    I agree that this whole journey is tough when you don't know what is going on. As the others said you now have a game plan. Take it one day at a time and remember to breath. Come here often to vent. This board is wonderful. HUGS and tell us when he has his surgery so we can all send good vibes and notes. I think knowing that others have made it through this is what helped me. You are lucky in a way to have found us before the surgery. We can tell you what are some things to expect so everything isn't a suprise.
