Debra Rae Burds, 47, of San Antonio, Texas, died Thursday, August 9, 2007, at her home.

Mrs. Burds was born January 4, 1960 in North Hollywood, California to Ronald Duane and Nancy Louise (Miller) Warner. She graduated from Del Norte High School in Albuquerque in 1978. She had been very active with the Key Wive’s Club at Kanoehe Marine Corps Base, Hawaii, and with the American Cancer Society Network. She was a member of the Catholic Church at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.

Survivors include her husband HMCS Joseph Burds, U.S. Navy, of the family home; three sons, Brian Joseph Burds of El Paso, James Robert Burds of Las Cruces, and Jeffrey Thomas Burds of the family home; two daughters, Catherine Britnie Burds of Portales, and Keily Louise Burds of the family home; her mother and stepfather Nancy Louise and Bernard Rutan of DeBary, Florida; two brothers, Ronald Duane Warner, Jr. and his wife Darla of Kalona, Iowa, and James David Kinkade of Albuquerque; a sister Dawn Marie Warner of Albuquerque; her grandfather Max Rogers and his wife Maxine of Bayfield, Colorado; her father-in-law John J. Burds of Ft. Sumner; her mother-in-law Kathleen Burds of Cloudcroft; a brother-in-law John Allen Burds and his wife Nancy of Wilmette, Illinois; three sisters-in-law, Sharon Cecelia West and her husband William of Ft. Sumner, Mary Mildred Kenyon and her husband Clifford of Ft. Sumner, and Jacqueline Kay Kenyon of Beaverton, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Debra was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents Jim and Wanda LaSalle; and her stepfather Robert Kinkade.

A vigil service will be conducted Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the family home, #8 N. Climb Road in Twin Forks, east of Cloudcroft, with the Rosary to be recited by Michael Hart.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cloudcroft with Father John Peterson, O.F.M. as celebrant.

Interment will follow in James Canyon Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matthew, Jacob, Caleb and Adam West, Zachary and Sean Kenyon, and Aaron and Ryan Warner.
