Two Years

Hi all,
I'm at the two year point and so far, so good. I had a follow-up with my oncologist on Friday and he said all looks good so he "graduated" me from 4 month visits to 6 month visits. I guess I should be ecstatic...my wife is. But I don't seem to feel that way. I'm feeling a bit more guardedly optimistic.
As a recap and for the new folks--
Diagnised December 04 with stage 2a colon cancer. Had laprascopic right hemicolectomy....no chemo. Regular follow-ups with oncologist and had CT and colonoscopy at year 1 and CT/PET a few months ago. Plan is to have repeat CT next Fall, and repeat colonoscopy next December.

The news is wonderful! That said, I can understand how you feel - that "sword" is always hanging over our necks and even when we are mostly positive, it is hard to ignore completely. I think the ironic thing is that very positive anniversaries tend to bring these scary feelings to the forefront.
So, your negative feelings are normal. But in another day or two, hopefully, you will have less concern. Two years is great news for any stage CRC - two years for Stage II is REALLY good news.
Celebrate! (Where is Kathi with the naked happy dance advice?)

Hi Howard,
Just starting out for us - husband had surgery on Dec 14th, diagnosed stage 2a - still recovering from "zipper" surgery. As mentioned in another message, next step is to make the chemo decision.
Hope I will be posting a message like yours in 2008.
Congrats and keep up the good fight.
