I surely agree with your ENJOY THE TIME GOD HAS GIVEN YOU appraoch to life. I thought I had a survior story with Colon and Lung cancers three months apart in '04, but I think your experience trumps mine. For all those with experience with this dastardly villain; do as I do---KEEP ON KEEPING ON!

What kind of lung cancer did you have? Or did it spread to your lung from another organ?

Hi Janius, thanks for taking the time to read my board.I first had renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) which spread to my lungs then to my brain.I was also told I show small signs of bone cancer which is what my Dad died from.My oldest sister died from breast cancer after 4 years. She was so strong and has been a rock of strength for me.I hope you are well.GOD BLESS

Did the cancer spread to your lungs or did it originate there? If so, what kind is it?

Wow! Eleven years. That's an amazing blessing. I too had renal cell carcinoma - 5 years ago had left radical nephrectomy. Appeared that all was going well and I expected to have my 5 year all clear come this July. They'd been following some benign-appearing nodules in both lungs for years but suddenly this March the 'benign appearance' disappeared and biopsy confirmed metastatsis from the renal cancer. Had the lower lobe of my lung removed 2 months ago and doing well again. Now, just wait and see. I too believe that God is in control and when people ask if I know how much time I have I tell them, 'the only one who knows that is God and he hasn't given me a timeline'. Then I smile and keep on keeping on. Yes, enjoying life to the max - spend time doing the things you enjoy most - and with the people you love the most are keys. God bless you! You're a real inspiration to others.
