Dear Semi-Colons,

Plans are underway for our Colon Palooza 3 in Austin, Texas!

The dates are April 27 (arrival) - April 30 (departure) You certainly don't have to leave on April 30 - some people come to Austin and NEVER leave!!!

Go ahead and make your airline reservations and plan to be here. We are making final adjustments to hotel accommodations (trying to get the best prices available) and I should be announcing that in the next week. Rest assured we have rooms.

The first night will be our opening dinner/drinks/entertainment (i.e. sharing photos, videos, memories, etc) My husband and I will host this evening. The following evenings will be loaded with good 'ole Texas fun and sites. Check out www.austin360.com for some information on what goes on here. Keep in mind that Austin is the "live music capitol"....so be prepared to do lots of toe tapping!

Can't wait to see ya'll here in Texas!!

More to come in the next few weeks!

Kerry

P.S. Southwest airlines usually offers great fares into Austin.

    Kerry,
Wish Colon Palooza was on a different date as could make this one as am only 90 miles from Austin - a great place. I will be busy celebrating my 60th birthday at that time - since cancer diagnosis certainly celebrate big time every chance I get. M.D. is a great place isn't it although I only see it from a nurse's view point and get my treatment at my home hospital. Enjoy hearing of the get togethers though. Jean

    Thanks Jean for replying.

Ok, come on folks - do we have any committments for this Palooza?? We have time to make good flight arrangements! If you are a newbie, take a look at our palooza photos - there are no words to describe the bonding that goes on at these get togethers.

    Let's hear from some folks.

    Hi Everyone!

I would love to be there too but since I might be starting chemo soon, not sure if I will be up to it. I am definately planning to go to the one in October in Canada! I have a few other of the semi-colons that I have been talking to that are going. Trying to get more! Hope some of you are going to that one too since I always see the names and would love to put a face to the name. Take Care.

Hmmm. A chance to meet all you wonderful people AND ROss and Jen? I'll have to think this one over.

See, I HATE planes. ANd it's at least a 4 hour flight from NY.

    I'll give it some thought.

    Barb,

A plane ride is sure easier than chemo!!! Just remember that and to meet some AUSSIES!! It is quite a memorable occasion, lots of support, hugs, tears, lots and lots of laughs, some naughty jokes and many good friendships made. Believe me, it is worth the trip. Come on !!!

Jen had the option for 2 domestic flights here with her work but turned them down. I told her she was crazy...I am the one really looking forward to the flight although 20-22 hous on a plane will be interesting!

omg, you have never been on a plane and u picked such a long one. We went to Aus a few years ago, it was a great trip but a long flight. we went to Sydney and Cairns. It was a 2 week trip and not long enough. I hope you are coming here for longer than a few days.

I would love to make the trip, but my daughter is getting married in Aug. and in Sept., both of our boys will be in college. So $$$ is a little tight right now.Maybe another time....

Well Howdy yawl! If you are going to TX then you must get the lingo down :)

Hey you know what - you guys oughtta contact Lance Armstrong! He lives in Austin! I am sure he would just love to come by and meet with you!

This sounds like a huge party in the making right in the heart of Texas. I grew up in Austin, went to high school there and then attended Texas A&M and UT Dallas. While you can take the girl out of TX, you can't take TX out of the girl! While you're there, make sure to stop in at the County Line and try out the best TX BBQ - with a lot of wholewheat bread and coleslaw of course.

Like Ifondots63, I am going to start chemo soon and probably won't make it on Palooza 3. Also like Ifondots63, I'll try to go to Canada in October after my treatment is over.

Ross and Jen, my husband and I live near San Francisco. If you want to stop in San Francisco and have a look around, please let me know. You're welcome to stay with us. Our doors are always open to Australians. My husband is Australian and we still have a house in Brisbane. In fact we were in Australia twice in 2005! Long story, won't bore you with it now.

At the minimum we can meet you at the airport and take you to see the Golden Gate Bridge and have some clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl on Fisherman's Wharf!

To make the plane trip shorter, grab The Davici Code and Angels and Demons and you won't even noticing the time on the plane!

Let us know if you can stop by!

    Cheers,
    Ying (aka JADot)

Hiya Ying...now I really prefer; errrrr...g'day mate or in the case of a female it would be ; g'day misses.
But then with an ozzie hubby you already know that! We have friends who live in Brisbane suburb of Wishart.
Would love to meet you and hubby Ying.
We will have about 10 hours to kill on the return trip in San Fran....minus a couple 'cos we would need to be back at the airport ready for re-boarding. So guess plenty of time to sample some food n coffee. I will leave it up to you. We arrive 9.15am on 2nd May and depart 2240 that night.Thank you for the offer.
I will send you a "personal message", so check out your start page.
All the best for your chemo and hope you will be well enough to meet us.
Huggs from oz, Ross and Jen
