I was wondering if anybody has had interferon alpha for mets in the lung from renal cell cancer. I have been having injections 3 times a week and so far my tumor has shrunk. Has anybody had the same reaction.

I have renal cell cancer stage 3 - 3 yr survivor - I haven't heard much about this drug but it sounds very interesting - I had heard there is no treatment.....I'll ask my oncologist next time I see him

Hi Louisee, Glad to hear of your positive experience. I am having CT scan today and expect to start treatment on Jan 14th. Offered interferon alpha or clinical trial of either interferon or it and interleukin and chemotherapy. I had cancer in my left kidney with spread to lymph system. Let me know how you go. Helen

Hi Louisee, I have been allocated the 3 drug trial, which gives me Interferon alpha injections 3 days a week, plus interleukin in week 1 and 5 and chemeotherapy (5FU) in weeks 5 to 8. I am cheered to know of your response to interferon. I have mests in my lymph and the cavity left by my kidney being removed. Start this Monday 23rd Jan. Scared but hopeful. Lots of love, Helen X
