Thank you all for your support. We saw the Dr and will start Topotecan in a couple weeks. I also wanted to share a short story and I think it applies to all of us, but it's especially for you Mopar - it goes with your favorite verse. If you are of a different faith put the word that fits in place of the word God. For we all have different faiths... but faith is the key.

Eagles in a Storm"

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks? The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for when the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.

The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.

When the storms of life come upon us - and all of us will experience them - we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us. We can allow God's power to lift us above them.

God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure and disappointment in our lives. We can soar above the storm. Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle them.

Isaiah 40:31 "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles."

Bonnie, you've brought tears to my eyes this morning. I knew there was a reason I should take some time to check my ACS site before I began my busy day. I will share your story with my husband and daughters, as we are now dealing with so much concerning my mother. She will have surgery on July 16, and this will be a comfort to her also.

Is the Topotecan oral or IV? The doctor has given me the names of the chemo drugs he will use for Mom, but I am not familiar with them. So I will be doing some heavy reasearch in the next few weeks.

In the meantime, please know that you continue to be an inspiration to me. Your words confirm that even though we will all go through so much in our lives, He enables us to RISE above it. Knowing all that we have gone through people ask, how can you possibly deal with it all. I always tell them, 'I have two choices'. 'Either I can whine and complain about it, or realize that this is the way it is, and know that God is with me every step of the way to go through the fire. God Bless you, Bonnie. Please let us know how your treatments are going.

    Hi BonnieR,

Thank you so much for sharing the story. It is quite eloquent to how many of us feel, I'm sure. It certainly is for me! And like mopar, it brought tears to my eyes.
Best of luck with your new course of treatment, and know that there are many prayers and good wishes flowing in your direction. Surround yourself with the white light (healing light) by thinking positively.
    Be well.

Bonnie you are an inspiration to us all, thank you so much. A friend of mine just had lymph nodes removed from under her arm and found they do have cancer cells I will share that story with her. You are in my prayers. God bless you in this journey you are about to embark on. Let the Lord just fill you even more with his Holy Spirit and let you soar like the eagles. Keep us informed on this treatment. I go back to the dr. the first of Aug. please keep me in your prayers. I have a card my brother got me while I was in the hospital, in a frame I love the verse, Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope, and a future. God Bless You, Jan
