Hi. I'm new to the Cancer Survivors Network. I've been seeing it advertised on tv for a couple of weeks now, and I finally decided to jump in with both feet.
I had stage IV rectal cancer met to the spine. Never would have found the cancer had I not been having severe back pain. Thank God, my oncologist treated the cancer very aggressively, never gave me a life "time frame" and with the help of family and friends and God, I'm still here!
I've been reading all the messages posted in in this group, and I want to say thank you to everyone. I now know that what I've been feeling is apparently a normal reaction. I was feeling kind of like a freak--feeling up and happy one moment, having a crying jag the next, feeling terror at every little twinge of pain in my back, having flashbacks......I feel so much better now knowing that what I'm feeling is apparently normal.
Again, thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences. God bless you all.
