Hi everybody it's lilmermaid (Sylvia. I went to the Y today to siwm for the first time with my head shaved and swimming with a wig. I belong to an aquatics class in the Y for people how are physically challenged, I have bone mets so that allows me to be in the class. The instructors are wonderful and give us a lot of TLC. First of all my wig is very short. The instructors ordered me a special flotation belt that keeps me floating high in the water and they fixed me up with a noodle that cut for me special and I swim with it between my legs which keeps me up high in the water. I never swim horizontsally I always swam vertically in the water so all of this is possible. I did not get my wig wet at all, and everyone loves my wig, they tell me it's very becoming and it doesn't look like a wig at all. I have to admit I like it too. I just want everyone to know that it's possible to swim with a wig and not get it wet or have it flip off. God bless Love and Prayers Sylvia from New York

    Hi Sylvia,

I smiled as I read your latest message - see what a few days can do!

On Sunday you thought you'd never do anything except sleep and now you are swimming. Congrats!

Continue to enjoy your good days - there will be more despite the chemo.
