Good afternoon ladies,
from reading past posts I can see that you are fighters ,and have alot of faith in Gods loving care. You also have love
( compassion) and humour, These are Survival qualities.
I have been reading about David and Goliath... what a wonderful spiritual analogy and visualzation for us in our situation! Goliath
was a monster, a formidible foe. He challanged the Isrealites to a battle to the death and all were afraid. None thought that such
a giant could be beaten, and they cringed in fear and defeat.... all except the shephard boy David........ David said "Who is this
Philistine that he should challenge the armies of the Living GOD" your servant will go and fight him, and the Lord will deliver me
from this philistine." so David ,who was just a youth took only five stones ( the # 5 being the symbol of grace) and his slingshot,
because the armor and weapons were too heavy for him to carry. When Goliah saw an unarmed boy come out to fight him he
laughed, jeered and mocked him....[.looking merely at the circumstances there would appear to be no contest]...but David said"
you come against me with sword and spear, but I come against you in the name of the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY...This day
the Lord will hand you over to me, and I will strike you down and cut off your head....and the whole world will know that there
is a God in Isreal, all those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the lord saves ; for the BATTLE IS
THE LORDS and he will give the enemy into our hands!!!!
Cancer is our Goliath, a formidible foe indeed, and sometimes when we focus on the circumstances, we feel fear and
hopelessness, but God wants us to keep our eyes on him and trust in him --not our outward circumstances because they can be
very misleading. God says YES when others say NO. it says that it pleases God to take the foolish thing in this world to
confound the wise! probably to keep egos in their place.

I believe that God has allowed us each to deal with Cancer because He wishes us to draw into a deeper spiritual realm, he has
chosen to bring us closer to him, to a deeper faith than we realized was there for us... We are special individuals that God is
changing . into strong Faith Warriors. We are going thru the FIRE..[ an apt description of chemo] It is burning away the junk
in our lives,
the things that don't really matter and revealing our Hearts to us and Strengthening our Character!
Prayers are essential...we need to talk to God, but even more essential is the Word of God. The Bible says, my words are
SPIRIT and they are LIFE, the Word of God is more than just comfort, It has the Power to Heal us.
Proverbs says that we should attend to his words, because they are LIFE to those that find them and HEALTH and HEALING
to all your flesh.
Jesus said HE is the great Physician.. the medicine he prescribes is his word....spending time often in Gods word is
Important because ..IT IS THE WORD ITSELF THAT HEALS US!!

When I neglect to feed my Spirit even for One day I find FEAR, and doubts start to crowd into my thoughts...but when I feed
my spirit with Gods word, fear fades away and peace takes it's place. Death comes to us all at sometime, however we can all
recieve healing in our lives whether it leads to a cure or not!
I hope I am sharing my feelings without sounding too preachy...please forgive me if I have offended anyone....As my Mom
always says, just chew on the meat and spit out any bones......

Dear Lindy: Thank you so much for your words. I have known the story of David and Goliath forever, but I had not made an analogy of it as you have--it is beautiful to think such a wonderous God can help even the smallest and weakest to conquer their enemy. The biggest enemy to overcome is fear itself. We must put that aside so we can reach God with a full heart and soul. He speaks sweet peace to me whenever "I" get myself close enough to Him to know I am ready--that I have put all fears aside and totally trust Him and Him alone. Blessed be the name of the Lord. You will be in my heart and prayers. Brenda in GA.
