Question about stages

Hello.  My older sister has just recently been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer and liver cancer.  They did not give her any information about stages. What exactly does "advanced" mean in lung cancer stages?  Thank you so much for our help with this question.

    Hi

"Advanced" means it has advanced from the original starting point to another area of the body. In this case, starting in the lungs and then spreading to the liver.

I truly appreciate it.  She goes Tuesday to get a portal put in and starts her chemo Wednesday.
