prostate radiation and hair loss

i had 8 weeks of external radiation to prostate bed , (had surgery a year befor) ,but there was still residual cancer

just wondering if anyone has lost any or huge amounts of pubic hair down there, or do i something else going on?

    Hi,  

    Could very well be from the external beam radiation. The radiation kills the genetic material in the cells it touches to replicate & grow.

    ive read you may lose some

    ive read you may lose some hair in the treatment area which in my case was 4cm but my lose seems to go outside tha area as well

    suspicious...im not worried about the cosmetic aspect...so i want to see if anyone can confirm or deny

    Loss of body hair is common in PCa treatment

    It happened to me.  Radiation, chemotherapy and hormonal treatment may lead to loss of body hair. Recovery of body hair from ADT takes longer and it never becomes hairy again.

    thank you for your reply but i only had radiation, im looking for someone in my situstion who lost a lot of it to only 

    external beam radiaition...thank you ....can you eleaborate?  excuse my sloppy spelling...what is ADT?   NOVICE

    im trying to find out if my hair loss is typical for external beam radiaition....if you can read my thread id appreciate it...thanks

    k i googled adt i understand the hormonal aspect

    I had the surgery then 40 days of radiation about 11 months later and no significan hair loss. hope that helps.
