    Waiting for diagnosis

I am encouraged by the comments and the positive outcomes for treatment of stage 4 lung cancer, has anyone gone into remission after it spread to the bone and brain?

my Mom died at age 54 after being diagnosed only 2 months earlier but that was 40 years ago. She was a smoker and never went to a doctor. I am waiting for the test results and never had any cough or trouble breathing but I have allergies and was hoarse for a while But never felt bad, just cleared my throat a lot in the morning. I only became concerned when I started having back pain and arm pain. my eyes have changed but my eye dr thought it was bc of cataracts. I’m very anxious and fear the worst.

Yes, my wife who is 55 years old was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma. Bio Marker EGFR Exon Deletion 19. She has Never Smoked and was very much into healthy eating. Never worked around hazardous material or toxins.

She did not exhibit any sort of symptoms until March 2022 this year. She thought she had a sinus infection, and an old knee injury was acting up(winter time cold).

She had a chest x-ray done and CT Scan done of chest-Revealed Malignant Neoplasm. She had a biopsy of the small growth in her left lung, and that revealed Adenocarcinoma. Sent samples to Lab and came back with  EGFR Exon Deletion 19.

She also had a Brain MRI and PET scan. This revealed brain and bone mets. The immediately did Full Brain Radiation and Radiation of her knee area. The radiation took A LOT out of her. Next up was the Oncologist and since she tested positive for the Bio Marker EGFR Exon Deletion 19, she was a candidate for Tagrisso.

She has been on Tagrisso 80MG since May 5th, and her CEA Levels in her blood have dropped from 1170 to 55 in the last 2 months since being on Tagrisso. Also second Brain MRI revealed a vast improvement with the lesions in her brain. Radiation did most of this. Since taking the Tagrisso 80MG per day, she has had numerous side effects, such as a lot of acne and LOTS of Fatigue(Cancer Fatigue). Her eating has been all over the place and some nausea was expected, but still doesn't make it pleasant.

So completely thrown into a whirlwind of emotions and changes! The Tagrisso has been decent so far, and she will most likely have another Brain MRI in September and another PET Scan in August or September.

Praying to the ONLY SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST for HIS LOVE,PEACE, and HOPE during this time and ALWAYS!🙏

Take Care to All those Battling the Fight against this enemy of cancer!

Prayers and sending Courage to ALL those who are Caregivers and those with cancer.

Will try and keep you all updated.

    🙏

Yes. Diagnosis 2012, stage 3, adenocarcinoma which spread to brain in 2014 making me Stage 4. I underwent surgery, radiation and nothing else.
