Mary, are you back in treatment?  I can't imagine why you would still have the metalic taste.  Have you seen an EMT to see if there is another reason for this happening  Sorry I have no solution or suggestions for you.

It is good to hear from you again, Mary.  Like yesyes and everyone, I hope that you  are in full remission.

Cathyp started writing again recently, and you might or might not recall her.  I mention this because she has spent years studying long-term side effects of treatment, and who the best doctors are in addressing these issues, which is a (relatively) rare subspecialization among medical oncologists.

Since she does not check in too often, send her a Private Message and she might be able to give you some leads and suggestions.

when I was undergoing Fludarabine/cytoxin/rituxan chemotherapy last year I noticed distinct taste changes. Since living in the UK in the early 80’s I have always had a taste for the bitterness of IPA (India Pale Ale). Since Fludarabine, I now need to drink triple IPA to get my thirst for bitters quenched. Of the three “flavors” of IPA (IPA, Double IPA, Triple IPA) the triple is the most bitter and also the highest ABV,. When I now drink it occasionally it tastes like the single IPA used to! Also on the weekly occasion when I have a scotch or bourbon it needs to be a minimum 100 proof. My relative in Inverness sent me a 140 proof Scotch (unavailable in this country) and it goes down smooth and easy. 2 years ago I would have hated it. My favorite IPA is Belgian style “Raging **** Triple IPA”  from Flying Dog Brewery. Go figure.

I find it amusing the site monitor would censor the name of a beer available on the shelves of most places selling beer including grocery stores. LOL.

I find that when my neuropathy gets bad, such as it will do after vigorous gardening outside, only srong beer relieves it. I've never drank liquior, so can't attest one way or another as to whether it would work even better.  

Regarding the censor asterisks:  I used a few Latin terms in a post at Prostate last week, and all of them were instantenously rendered as asterisks.  It took a moment for me to figure, but the way the words were (properly) spelled made them look like 'something else' in English.    These verboten words are not slammed by actual humans, but by software.  Why hire someone smart enough to review them later to determine if the censoring was reasonable or not ?  And I have noticed that this same software is ultilzed in all P.M.s also; there too, never corrected or edited. 

Similiar to the statements of Rameses (Yul Brynner) in the classic movie The Ten Commandments. When his aids would suggest that he was wrong or excessive, he always responded with "What I have written, I have written."   These judgements, from on high, are not subject to mortal scrutiny by us plebs. (I'm watchig to see if plebs and Yul show up, or are rendered as asterisks );  .)

The asterisks in my message covered a common term often used to designate a female dog. It is the actual name of the Beer, IT is CHanged in no way.

i thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

Shady, if I recall correctly, you live in or near eastern NC, at least at times.   Charleston has a brewery that produces a grog by the name of Pluff Mud.    Anyone who has ever been on the southeastern coasts' intracoastal waterways or marshes knows what this stuff is.   The grog is even colored a dark brown....   I do not know how far it is distributed, but take a chance on one if you dare.  I buy it at Q.T. gas stations as far as the N.C. line, just below Tryon/Hendersonville.  Perhaps Q.T. distributes it nationwide. It is actually a bit too much for me.  I drink for a buzz, not for misery.     {Aside to all:  I know this is a health-supporting site. I drink only occasionally and responsibly, and NEVER drink under the influence.}

I hope your BMB is negative.   And I too had an anemia scare, but it didn't occur until I had been CR/NED for about two full years, and previously, all CBC results had always been perfect.  Then, at a six month check, I was profoundly anemic.  Onc put me on two weeks of infusion iron.   He also had me checked with an immediate colonoscopy, celiac test.  About a month later, everything was perfect and has remaind so.  

He later told me that his actual first guess was relapse with an aggressive Lymphoma, but wanted to rule out other possible issues.  He told me that since it totally resolved itself he has had no idea as to the cause; that it was odd and baffeling.
