Yes they look there if they find any they go in details In the last report they noticed that there was a slight deterioration in the last vertebrae of the spine due to age progression
In my reports it's written all skeleton are normal. But isn't clear what are the skeleton in details, so I wanted to make sure they've looked at hip's skeleton too. Thanks for your reply
I don't know if they have gone down that far with my scans - I need to ask next time. I know they get the top of my hips, but definitely not much farther than that.
I just asked that same question yesterday to expert doctors at IUPUI cancer center. They assured me that the bones included in the area of the CT scan would be scanned as well. Some times i get a CT of chest and abdomen and sometimes just chest.
Reason is they now found two new nodules in my left lower lung. i asked if i should get another bone scan to see if there were anymore nodules / tumors anywhere else. They said it wasnt needed because my chest and abdomen CT also covered 75% of my bones.
Thank God that I saw this post. I've been having tailbone/buttock pain for the past 2 weeks, went to see my PCP who assured me that his examination and assessment reveals a musculoskeletal pain. Of course, being paranoid and always on the defense, I asked if I needed to have a ct scan or xray at least to r/o cancer and I was told "no, you're thinking too much". I just had a ct scan of the abd and pelvis with and without contrast almost three weeks ago to r/o sepsis and abscess and it states "No acute osseous abnormality or destructive ossesous lesion" . I guess it's just me being overly cautious about everything.

Yes
I'm pretty sure they go down to about the center of your thigh bone. They had round something on one of my scans in the hip joint at one point.

Glad to hear the pain
Glad to hear the pain subsided! This is a side-effect of being a cancer survivor or survivor's caregiver - every pain/lump/bump is "cancer!!!!"
But it is usually not :-)
