My 6 week follow up

My follow up was good. I'm still having my right side flank pain and back pain. I'm hoping its mostly muscular. I started this morning doing some stretches and going to start yoga again. It feels like I have a gas bubble on my right side haha. I press on my lower back and I feel a sharp pain in my abdomen. I dunno, doctor wasn't too concerned. Either way I'm getting my follow up CT and bloodwork in June. So my Urologist wants me to do CT scans at my 6 month mark, one in 2 years and 1 at my 5 year mark. Thought I would be getting more than that. Once a year till my 5 yr. He is so confident this was just a "bump in the road" for me. What is he basing this on? I'm a 32 year old female. My RCC must have started growing when I was 29 maybe 30? I'm not quite in the statistics. Wondering if genetic testing would be beneficial. Soo many people in my family has had or died from cancer. Anyway, no matter what I shall remain positive and enjoy my time with my boys because OH MAN do they keep me busy!

What does everyone think about my urologists approach with the scans?

Anyone done genetic testing?  Would it be beneficial?

Thank you!

    .I think you should have

.I think you should have scans every six months for at least the first year and then annually at least to 3 years. I had scans. Every six months for two years then annually at year three and now I alternate between us and scans every other year.

    This doesn’t seem enough to

This doesn’t seem enough to me and seems off from most of the suggested guidelines. I had a similar sized mass, 2.9 cm and grade 2. I had a scan at 3 months, three months after that, 6 months after that, 10 months after that which was my 2 year surgery anniversary. I am now on a yearly schedule until 5 years out then will be on yearly ultrasounds.

    Your scan schedule sounds

Your scan schedule sounds similar to mine, I have my first post op scans in July 2017, in November 2017 I had a mri unrelated to rcc. I told my urologist in January of 2018 about my mri an he said there’s no need to schedule another ct in July of 2018 when I see him next. But I get labs done every 6 months.

SORRY CANT CHANGE FONT BUT BELOW IS MY COMMENTS NOT MEANT AS A CLINICAL GUIDELINE

This is cancer at the end of the day and an unpredictable one at that

it is so scary when you read about reccurrences after 10, or 12 years

i am a chromie so apparently low risk so have to wait 12 months For a CT scan.. in the back of my mind i keep thinking how will a US pick up spread to lymph nodes or bone

sorry i Have no faith in lab work pickng up anything that would prove or disprove signs of RCC
