    Long time survivor

Madmom, I have not been to this forum in years, but somehow wanted to check in. In 2004, I was where your husband is at. I was early 40's, Stage 4, 3 mets to the liver. Went through radio frequency ablation and chemo. Remission for 7 years and then 3 more spots to the liver. Had a liver resection and chemo again and have been in remission for another 7 years. There are other stories like mine out there. I hope this gives you and your husband some hope. Mike

    Happy story

Thank you so much for checking back, and sharing your story.  Here is to many more years NED.

    I was diagnoised stage 4

I was diagnoised stage 4 November 2011.  Went through chemo, liver resection, and more chemo.  I have been cancer free as of June 28, 2012, which makes me coming up on my 6th year.  I am currently 48 and it is possible with today's technology and doctors. I was told what to do and how to do it, and I followed all the doctors advice plus some.  If they told me to walk down the hall, i walked around the clinic/hospital... So, yeah the young age has a lot to do with it, but mindset has more!!!  Get your mind set to move forward and this is just a minor setback and all will move on.  NEVER let it get you down, my wife knew what "could" happen but continued to pusi me as well.  Honestly being young and having the right mindset is the most important.  Never let cancer get to you, always push it down and move forward.
