only one more after this! He is only getting 5FU now with avastin so it’s been much easier for him. Supposedly the dr is going to come talk to him about what she and the surgeon have decided after he is done. I have a feeling she won’t and we will have to wait two weeks until his last appointment. hoping The last two treatments go easy like rest and we are getting closer to the end of this, well as much of an end as you can have. I guess I mean just going back to every 3 month checks. He was a such a rockstar through all this! Not telling him that though ;) |

I'm so happy for him that he's made it through! The end is in sight! When I was on 5FU my biggest problem was fatigue. I'd lie in bed and stare out the window at the sky. No TV, no reading, just blah. It was soul sucking.

If he has fatigue
he isn’t showing it. I mean some days he will say he is a little but he still working 70 hours a week so he is fighting it pretty good. Workaholic in the dictionary has his picture I am sure of it!

Great
It's always such a relief when the end of treatment is in sight. It's such a long road when you first begin and then you tread along one treatment after another, hoping every time that this last treatment is helping as much as they hope. You and hubby are on a roller coaster of emotions throughout the whole process. I'm wishing him a easy last couple of treatments and then a great result with the doctor. Thanks for all your support on this board. Your husband sure is lucky to have you.

Thank you Kim!
i don’t feel I offer much but I try! It’s been crazy in some ways but easy in others if that makes sense? It went a lot faster than I thought. Hoping these last two don’t jinx the whole thing!

70 hours a week?! Tell him to
70 hours a week?! Tell him to relax a bit :) I wouldnt even want to do that off of chemo lol...but in all honesty i think being on my feet and working everyday really helped. I am glad is doing so great.

I agree with you!
he is an electrical engineer, so it’s desk work and some is done at home. Still I think he needs to cut back but I have been arguing that for 25 years!

My husband just had his 12th treatment, but
My husband just had his 12th treatment (5Fu, Avastin, and Oxa(something). We were hoping that surgery would be next but that doesn't seem to be the case. We are waiting to find out the results of his CT scans but already know chemo will continue and possibly add radiation. My husband has mets to his liver (approx 10 spots), lung, peritoneal and mesenteric nodes. Does anyone else have this much involvement? Except for the three days post treatment, he is doing really well. The CT scan after tx #6 showed all areas responding and no new areas. His CEA has gone from 1550 to 357 so we are hoping that this CT will show a continued response. Anyone else with similar mets that became NED? I'd give anything for this to be me and not him.

I'm amazed at the number of treatments your husbands have had already. And able to be in workaholic mode while doing it.

Wow, on chemo and working 70 hours is not a joke! Your husband's strong. Looking forward to good results on the scan.
