3 months scans

So I go in for my 3 month scan today, since surgery. I had my whole kidney removed, so the doctor is ordering an IV hydration before and after my CT with contrast. I will have a chest and abdominal CT. Is this typical, and I should ask for this everytime I need scans with contrast. Praying and claiming NED result.

I had a 3 month scan also had

I had a 3 month scan also had entire right kidney removed. Was told to hydrate before and after and the scan tech said they lower the dosage because if only one kidney.
