Hi

question: it could be that a severe pain on my right shoulder could be related to a mass that I have in my left kidney(4.6cm) metastasis Already? The pain is no al the time , if a doing exercise I don’t feel it at all.

    Probably not

    Carlos,

but thats what doctors are for. The references I have seen on this board for shoulder pain usually relate to trapped gas post surgery. Get it checkedd out.

I verry, very highly doubt it

I verry, very highly doubt it.  If you don't feel the pain when exercising, it sounds like it is nerve or muscle related.  Worse case scenario would be a IBS or a gall bladder issue but that shouldn't change with exercise.  Do you have more pain when you eat foods that are greasy or full of fat?

    Sorry you are here

so soon after the death of your dad

i was in a similiar position in that my husband died of lung cancer  and I spent four years petrified I was going to die and leave my two children

The fear is dreadful as you know that cancer  is a very hard thing to overcome

well after four years I found it.... op all done and I hope to be here for a while yet

my mass was 4.4 cm and was all contained so try not to hit the panic button yet although i understand it is easy for me to say

have you got more tests schedulled yet

my doc and I were discussing observations of what and how people interpret what they feel. It is anyones guess from a distance. Give your doc a more detailed picture and the proper testing can be set up. Always follow up on your complaints because anything is possible wiith RCC mets. I believe we have had several members whose first signs of cancer were humerous, scapular, or spinal mets with referred pain into  the shoulder.

    Carlos, glad you found us.

Carlos, glad you found us. Your fears/anxiety and worry are common, but really unnecessary.

Your size tumor is probably only stage I and you'll have a great outlook. Yes, you'll be monitored but that will be good.

Your tumor is about the same size as mine and I am going on 4 years (NED=No Evidence of Disease) this Saturday, the 30th.

Remember your body reacts to being anxious and tight. Tension can produce so many odd pains and such. i remember having mid back pain and told by my surgeon, before my surgery, that it was not related to the tumor. I have another condition and that doctor said it was probably related to the tumor LOL huh? My primary said, Well, lets see if its still there after your surgery. It went away. Yes, there is such a thing as referred pain. But the kind that comes most often with kidney cancer is more in the flank area.

So now promise yourself and your loved one to use ALL your energy to prepare and LIVE YOUR LIFE, rather than worry about the "what ifs" and it never happens.

You should do just fine. Here to answer any and all questions. Have you ever had any surgery? And does your surgeon do Laparascopic/robatic surgeries? It is less invasive, but either way, most likely the "c" will go with the surgery!

    Hang in there.

Sending you CALM, SERENITY and HOPE!

    Now do something fun!
