Seeking experience with Gemzar

I am a stage IIIC UPSC patient of about 9 months. First six months it was determined I am platinum resistant after receiving standard protocol of carbo-taxol and subsequently diagnosed as "recurrent" disease with spread to perioneum and abdomen areas. I have been on doxil + avastin for the past three months but the hand-foot syndrome (plus skin rash) was determined this week to signal I am allergic to doxil. Dr. has recommended Gemzar as next attempt.  Does anybody have recent experience with Gemzar? Thanks in advance. I have found this board pretty accurate in describing various experiences with specific chemo treatments. KTM

    Thank you for the feedback.

Thank you for the feedback. How many rounds did you have and was it effective?

I did every two weeks for 6

I did every two weeks for 6 months.   That was back in 2005/2006.   I had a small recurrence in 2010 which I only had surgery - no treatment.
