    Hi Fox

I will be taking your advice.  I feel like I need to rest a lot.  My energy is low.  It's not that I feel tired, just that I don't feel like doing anything active.  I assume that my energy is going in to healing.  Whatever it is, sitting or laying around and napping feels right.  I am free of commitments so I can make the most of it.

    Steve.

    Discharge

My first couple weeks out of the hospital I could have an hour or so of activity followed by a 3-4 hour nap. when I say activity that just might mean watching TV or making it downstairs or to the bathroom. I prabably spent 12-16 hours a day sleeping for about ten days.

So glad to hear that you are

So glad to hear that you are doing well.

Just out of curiousity, are you guys able to sleep in a regular bed after surgery?  Is is better to sit up or be propped up with pillows?  Just curious if it makes a difference.

    Just the regular bed, customized...

After surgery, when I came home I slept in my own bed. I did customize it a bit by putting it on bed risers so I wasn't having to get up out of a hole (I did the same thing to a firm sofa, not so I could sleep there, but so I could comfortably sit there). Also, I'm a side sleeper, too. I put a very firm memory foam lumbar pillow between my legs. That kept me from twisting my torso (AIEEEEE!) as I slept (Ahhhhh).

Trying to sleep or sit in a recliner on a good day doesn't work for me. I'm ever so glad I didn't attempt it.
