    Great news Steve!  You can't

Great news Steve!  You can't cry any more than I did when I got my path report the next morning.  Now you can focus on recovering!

    Hi guy

I didn't know I was worried until I read the report and felt a wave of relief.

    Weird, eh?

    Steve.

I need you to help me

    Steve,

Now that you are a survivor and your little bugger was the same size as mine, I need you to help me with the newbies over the next 10 or 20 years. Are you up to it? Just take it easy for the next weeks and months. No bungee jumping or croc wrestling until next year at the earliest. I waited almost 11 months after my neph to go Water skiing.

    Icemantoo

    The 4cm club?

I shall be around for a while, no doubt.

Maybe forever. Once a nephrectomy club member, always a member, I guess.

    Gotta keep the hole

I'm hoping the kidney will grow back. One of the docs said he was looking forward to writing the case report on that one.

    Kidney growing back

    All through my surgery and recovery friends or family would always ask "is there anything i can do for you?" how do you answer that? I just needed to deal with this mostly alone and get my bowels and feet moving on my own. No one could do much to help. AND........ because i have a somewhat morbid sense of humor I started using this line on a few people I thought could handle it;

"Is there anything I can do for you or anything you need?" >>>> Can I have a kidney? ..After all you do have two perfectly good ones

The look on their face for a split second always made me feel bad for teasing, and yet i couldnt stop.....whats wrong with me?

    I tried that too

A woman who worked at the hospital asked if there was anything she could do for me.

'Can I have one of your kidneys?'

'No', she said. 'l was born with only one.'

    Steak and Kidney Pie

Is exactly what you need now. The pie has a special relish once one of your kidneys has tried to kill you.

    Breakfast

I had curried lamb kidneys for breakfast this morning.

It might take me a while to get around to the pie.
