allegedly cured...again

Metastic colon cancer in the liver.  Third surgery and I'm cured again...right!  Does anybody have any data on the reoccurance of colorectal cancer (metastic or not) after a liver resection?

Regards,

    No specific data

but I had four recurrences and five surgeries, last one in 2011.  My spread was more localized (small intestine, uterus, peritoneum, rectum) and so a bit different than your experience, but I have seen others with pretty significant liver involvement who got on top of it via surgery.  Hopefully that will the case for you!  I have to admit, tho, that no one used the word "cured" for  me until I was a few years past my last surgery.

    I don't know the stats

I tend to keep away from the stats, and just celebrate the moment; so I can't answer your question.

What I can do though, it welcome you to the forum, and let you know that I wish you all the best from this moment onward, that you may indeed be 'cured' and see no more of that dratted Cancer, ever again.

    Hi

Glad to hear that your surgery was a success.

A permanent cure is a toss-up once diagnosed with cancer of any kind.  Until we can find a definitive cause of each type of cancer and a means to fix it, we remain vulnerable.  Stay vigilant regarding your body.

We can only live each day to the fullest and hope that our latest treatment is the last we need.

    Wishing you the best,

    The "C" word

Let's start by saying everyone is different with how they deal (or don't deal) with their cancer. My own personal opinion is that too much emphasis is put on labeling our situations. If you feel good, enjoy it. If you don't, then I hope whatever course of treatment that you follow helps you feel better and enjoy living again.

I've known way too many people that focused so much on what might happen that they basically stopped living. It's certainly not for me! And I do have lousy days at times. I'm pretty sure I had those pre-cancer too...

I hope you stay healthy and feel good/great Wiley!
