    So sorry to hear this

It seems like you are being run through the mill, again.

It really does seem like an awful lot of scans, and I have just read (Readers Digest I think) that too many scans are not good or a body; but as Cancer patients, we know that we have to have multiple tests in order to find our tumours.

You could talk to your Oncologist about your concerns, but I fear that he will tell you that in order to go on, you need the scans.

Good luck! Let us know how everything goes.

    Ask

Whenever you wonder about something whether it be meds or tests or options, always question your doctor.

It does seem unusual to have another test so soon.  Ask for a reason why.  Were both tests ordered by the same doctor?  If not it may be the second didn't know about the first.

From what I have read here on the board, most are getting PET/CT scans not MRI's.  You may want to ask about that as well.

If you have considence in your doctor, that is the important thing.

Best wishes for good outcome of you expected procedure.

    SIRT

I'm not sure about safe levels of all these scans we go through, though there are calculators out there...  As for the extra scans for the SIRT procedure, I've read papers on the process since I may be getting it done to my liver as well.  I read that they perform two angiograms, one to make sure you're a good candidate and the second during the procedure.  I was under the impression these were x-Rays hooked up to a video screen so they could watch the flow of the spheres in your blood stream, making sure they flow to the desired areas.  I didn't read about the MRIs as well.  I'm under the impression that since MRIs don't use radiation, there isn't much of a concern with the number.
