Well everything still growing. Liver met size of a quarter. Lungs growing, double in size, one had no growth. 2 small one in lymp nodes. Surprise. No chemo today Changing it again, need insurance approval. Said go ahead and try canabis oil. But still have options. Oh, well. Off Erbitux and going on zaltrap and staying on Folfri.
What can I say, Stay Strong. Second opinion on Friday. Going to get the Cannabis. Tried finding the Indica strain on my own but couldn't so going to a dispensary.
So sorry to read this update. I was thinking of you this morning and hoping you were getting some good news. I think you were on a similar path as my husband. He had 12 rounds of Folfox in 2013, finished in July. In November and December of 2013 he had many pain issues, many tests where nothing showed up. Finally ended up in the ED in early January with another large tumor in his small intestines this time. Horrific 17 day hospitalization and next ct scan about 6 weeks later showed distant lymph node involvement. Time for us to get the heck out of Dodge - went to a large much more professional cancer center in our city and never looked back. I just feel sorry for the people that still go to that place we used to go to. He's had a PET scan and another CT where things are looking better after only 4 Folfiri treatments. I would highly recommend a 2nd or even 3rd opinion. This kind of news sure takes the winds out of your sails, but as long as there are options you have to keep trying. Good luck with the Cannabis, let us know if and how that helps.
here's to the second opinion (fingers, toes crossed) coming up with something, or else the new chemo works. Sending nothing but good vibes and wishes your way Raquel!!!
Once, and only once, did I lose some serious weight, and even though I knew I had reached an ideal (for me) weight, I still wanted to lose more. Its good to be able to know when to stop.
Winter, you look great. Stick with it and stay where you are.
Thank you Winter you are looking Fab, but don't lose too much weight. Ensure is a good idea. I've lost 40 lbs, good thing I'm off Oxy, although, ONC said I may need to go back on FOLFOX, as it worked the first time. He said he wants to save it as a last resort, wonder why.... I didn't ask. I'll ask Dr Yen on Friday.
I truly think you will really like him and I'm sure he'll be able to answer that question for you. Again wish I wasn't getting surgery so we could meet and lunch.
And yes, I went and got coupons from his office today so I started the Ensure to get a bit of weight back :)!!
I know you must have been expecting something like this, though wishing it otherwise. I know when I got my two CEA jumps, I still wanted so bad for the Oncologist to tell me that it was a fluke. Of course I knew that something was up, but figured it didn't hurt to think a miracle might happen.
Good luck with your second opinion. It never hurts. I pray for good news. You know we're always here for you.
Oh, Nana b, so sorry that you are going thought so much. I can still read the fight in you...so glad for that and that you are getting a second opinion. Keep your eyes on the prize...NED. you are in my heart and prayer.

I will be thinking of you tomorrow, Nana b. I will also pray for that miracle.
I hope that you are happy with your team, and know that they will do all in their power to knock this beast on its head.
Cyber hugs.

I can hear the fight in you
I can hear the fight in you too. Second and third opinions should be a part of the norm. Chanting NED into yhe atmosphere.
