Yay!!! So happy for you! Now you can celebrate the holidays without that nasty little voice inside you reminding you about your health worries. Let's hope the good news continues on!
Yay on your shrinkage, Ron....I think. Saw the oncologist and while he couldn't give me a long term guarantee that everything would be rosy forever and ever, he gave me a "90 day/5000 mile" guarantee that I would be fine to have a good holiday season! LOL. We are doing the full body scan the first week in March and if the nodules have grown at all, he already has a plan in place for three courses of radiation (cyberknife?) to zap Leroy's illegitimate offspring out of my left lung. There are NO new nodules at all! Just the ones that showed up in the PET and CT. Then we will work on the right lung and see what's happening there. In the meantime, we're going to Jamaica next Sunday and watch our daughter get married to the love of her life, with my darling husband walking her down the beach....and then he will go scuba diving and I will snorkel, since it's only been 8 months since surgery, and we will walk on the beach at sunset with each other and I will have a margarita or two and we will dance and smile and have worlds of fun!
i have dodged so many bullets that I could probably train the marines on how to run, duck, dodge and weave! ;)
A dirty banana, huh? Will I get escorted off the property? LOL. All I know is....I'm putting this lily white, overweight and still bloated body into a bathing dust and I'm going to have fun! And if anyone laughs at me, I'll put on a bikini, get drunk, and really freak them out! If I need bail money, can I call on y'all to help a poor girl out?
Darron, assuming a Dirty Banana is a drink and not a vibrator, I'll give it a try when I cruise to Jamaica for Valentine's Day
Tillie, a bathing dust? Is that the same as a bathing suit? Whatever the case, I say go for it! I for one have no business in a bathing suit, even in the privacy of my own backyard but by golly I'm gonna wear one. Let the people gawk, what do I care? I'll never see them again. Not gonna lie tho, it may take some liquid therapy to work up the courage to disrobe on the beach but I'm thinking a Dirty Banana or two might just do the trick!
Anyway, wishing you safe travels and a wonderful time with your family as you witness your babygirl become a wife. Oh what fun!!
Damnautocorrect! That should have been bathing suit! You're right! What are the chances of anybody there, that matters, ever seeing me again, bathing suit, & dirty banana or not!? Our "baby" girl will never say a word cause I know where all the bodies are buried and she's scared of me! LOL. But I'm sure I'll need some mega liquid refreshment/courage to take my "cover up" off and let all my whiteness shine! I should get a spray tan before I go, cause we all know that tan fat is much more attractive than pasty white fat, but I'm out of time. We leave for Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday and will catch the flight to Montego Bay on Sunday morning, and should be in the ocean or a hot tub by 4pm, with a drink of some kind in my hand.
Not to worry about being a bathing beauty. We women are our own worst enemy ... especially where bathing suits are involved. Your body has battled and survived so much. And i bet your spirit, personality and humor shine so bright that you would put any supermodel to shame. Enjoy every moment, every palm tree, every dirty banana, every bit of sunshine...and of course the wedding!
Tillie, it sounds to me like you are in for a magical time, what a beautiful place for your daughter to marry. I wouldn't worry how you look in a cozie, whether you have a Dirty Banana, or a Scruffy Pineapple, if it has enough dark rum in it after a few you wont care what shape or shade you are!
lol Darron, I seriously just laughed out loud! Too funny! I plan on trying your Dirty Banana, thanks for the recipe. I'm always up for something new and exciting.
I'm going to HAVE to try that drink now! We're in our hotel room waiting for our flight tomorrow morning! I am R.E.A.D.Y. For this trip! I've been making all the jewelry for the women at the wedding, but I'm especially proud of my daughter's necklace and earrings. She will also be wearing/carrying her grandmother's wedding ring, as the something old and something borrowed. I also mde her some beaded "barefoot wedding beach sandals", to match her jewelry. Lots of pictures will be taken!!
I had a dirty banana tonight! YUMMMMM! Might have another one tomorrow! Right now just trying to work the kinks out of my back, hips and legs! Dang! Didn't know I could get this stove up! I've taken three pain pills since last night and it's not touching it...plus this bed is...shall we say....extra, EXTRA firm....like lying on a slab of concrete. Jamaica is beautiful, though. I will hit the hot tub tomorrow.

Dirty Banana
I did not chip a tooth when I put the dirty banana to my lip, so yes, drink , not vibrator!
1oz creme de cacao
1oz creme de bananes
1oz kahlua
2 scoopea vanilla ice cream
It tastes like a milk shake. Add vodka if it isn't before 10:00 am, flavored chocolate vodka is really good with it.
Happy New Year!
