Good news!

As you may recall, two weeks ago I was really bummed because my CEA was rising, well I went in for cycle 5 of Irinotecan & Avastin & Xeloda to find that it went down over 6 points! Serious happy dance. Not sure why, but I hope and pray it continues. I've neer had a CEA spike from cancer dieoff, so I don't think that was it. Maybe it's just taken my body awhile to really get to the cancer. I still havent talked to the surgeon, we'll see if I can get through after the holidays. Right now, I'm just too happy. Here are my numbers:
Cycle 1 - 18.6 CEA
Cycle 2 - 15.9
Cycle 3 - 18.4 (cold, diaherra, no irinotecan or avastin) - maybe the cold caused the initial spike?
Cycle 4 - 21.4 - not taking all three drugs made it worse?
Cycle 5 - 15.2 - back on the downward trend
I guess that means I really need to take all three drugs and not get sick! Happy Holidays everyone! I'm celebrating, hope you are too. Traci

HAPPY FOR YOU
That's great news Traci. Ever since I was diagnosed with CRC & joined this loving forum, the happiest news for me in life is someone beating this monster & heading to win the race. Sending my prayers to you for a continuous downward trend in your CEA & of course the good news of NED. Wish you & your family a Mary Christmas & a Happy New year.
