I have to decide if I need to do RAI treatments. Has anyone had them? What side effects? Would you recommend it to a friend? If so, why? If not. why not? Thanks Lizzie85

    RAI

I think most people who post on this discussion group have had RAI treatment. In order to give you a reasonable answer, we need to know more about your circumstances. Why are you considering undergoing RAI treatment? Have you already had any other treatments or surgeries because of this condition?

    DHunt,

If you're asking me and not Lizzie, yes I have had an RAI.

I was diagnosed with Papillary Stage III on 1/18/2011 when I had a swollen lymph node in my neck biopsied.  I had a total thyroidectomy plus a neck disection {54 lymph nodes removed} on 2/8/2011, both lobes and an additional lymph node were cancerous.  I had my RAI, 73 mCi, which is a small dose, on 4/14/2011.
