If you are dealing with the possibility of bone mets on your rib then you definitely should be taking Xgeva or Zometa immediately.

Xgeva would be my first choice.  It works faster; it is given by shot once a month; it does not stress the kidney; and has been recently shown to be more effective than Zometa for long term results.  Still, Zometa is a fine choice too - but you will then have to monitor your kidney function.

When on either one of these drugs you will need to take a calcium supplement as well. it is very important to watch your calcium level. But do not use calcium carbonate supplements.  This is the most popular version (and cheapest) available - but the body can't easily absorb this version.  So look for calcium citrate capsules, preferably with some added magnesium.

But please discuss all of this with your doctor.
