    no news yet
    Hello,

I have a call into my gyn oncologist and my endocrinologist as well. With the three hour time difference I am still hoping to hear back today. I am planning to at least get a TSH test done soon out here to see where that is and if it is relative to all of this or not. I am sure I will be told to wait for the results of the CA125 and the pap and that we will proceed from there.

    Thanks, MinnieJan

Praying that everything will turn out to be nothing.
I know that you have to be worried. I just went for another 3 month check up. CS125 was 11, lowest ever but she (the gyn onc dr) wants me to do another ct scan because the June ct scan said 1 lymph node was borderline in size. She said she could not feel anything but wants to make sure. I hate drinking that berry flavored chalk before the ct scan. But I have it already set up for Oct 26. It is scary waiting. I will be praying for a simple explination of why you are having bleeding. trish

    Trisha, have you tried the
Trisha, have you tried the banana flavored? It wasn't so bad. I used a straw- goes down faster and I don't think you taste it as much. I was maxed out on all that broth though. Still, I could handle it better than the gatoraide

    Drinking the chalk
Have you asked at your scan center about mixing the contrast with crystal light. The scan centers that I have gone to and the also the ones my husband goes to, mix the contrast with crystal light lemonade. We have to drink two glasses of the crystal light but it is not bad tasting like the chalk....very easy to get down.

    thanks
Thanks for all the positive comments and understanding. I came to the right place without a doubt.

Update: According to my oncologist it appears that the bleeding is caused by acute inflammation which I have had since the brachytherapy and chemo ended about 18 months ago. The latest CA125 was under 7, which is the lowest it has ever been, and the pap came back with NO pre-cancerous cells, NO cancerous cells, no infection but definitely acute inflammation. Each pap for the last 18 months has come back with acute inflammation but this is the first time I have had such bleeding. It was very disconcerting having so much blood knowing there is no uterus, ovaries, etc. ! I will go for a CT scan in January, one year from the last scan. They said insurance would not cover one until then because all the tests came back normal. The bleeding has stopped, but if it starts up again I may go for a second opinion. I am still gaining weight and the lower abdomen is still the same, so the next step is for the TSH and other tests to determine if it is related to the lack of thyroid from the thyroid cancer. I will have those done on November 1 after returning home because they want them done at the same lab. Apparently different labs do these tests differently, especially the cancer marker test for thyroid.

I have to say, being so far from home it was difficult, but the oncologist's office at home and nurses were wonderful, keeping me posted on the tests and everything. That did help tremendously.

Although you don't have all the answers yet, sounds like your worst fears aren't happening. So relieved for you and hope everything else goes well.

Glad you are able to have good things to say to some
well, I am so happy you didn't tell these frightened ladies to go to the "emotional support" discussion board and tell them "cancer is cancer" - what a thing to say for UPSC.

You need to take deep breath before you lash out for whatever reason - 1st impression - this is the real you.

I do forgive you for this horrible faux pas. Here's a copy in case you forgot:

    Golda, I wonder if you
Golda, I wonder if you should also post under " emotional support". Cancer is cancer, so you might get helpful imput from more people as you make descisions. Just a thought. Stay strong
