I had a CT scan in March
but they don't look at the breasts in that. I had my annual exam with my gyn in May, and he didn't notice anything (but the spot they are looking at is very deep in, and I have rather -ahem- large breasts.

This is the first time I've ever had anything of concern on the right side. I had a needle biopsy of the left about 8 years ago. It was a fatty cyst. This will be a needle-core biopsy; larger needle, larger pieces of tissue. Hoping for the same benign results.

    Just a pain over all.

    sad
Sad to hear you got potentially bad news, but nothing to worry about until/unless they find it to be something. Here is to hoping it will be nothing and you and your husband are able to enjoy your "rather -ahem- large breasts" for years to come with troubled thoughts of cancer nothing more than distant memories.

    Frustration for sure
Is this due to ineptness or just that gray area of medicine? I can understand you and your husband's frustration. Hope this gets resolved soon. Sometimes the waiting is the hardest part. Best wishes to you.

    Not ineptness
Just that I coincidentally have 2 spots near each other; one which only showed on the mammo, and the other on the ultrasound. The one on the ultrasound was biopsied, but they only realized it wasn't the same one as was found on the mammo when they did the post-biopsy mammo to check the placement of the marker. It wasn't in the area that was bad in the mammo.

    Aaargh!

I hope it is nothing. Haven't you had your dose of cancer? I think one is too much. Hoping for good results, and the only stress is waiting.

    Sorry
So sorry that you didn't get a definite answer today. I'm surprised that with the ultrasound they didn't see both spots or visa versa the mammo with both spots unless one was hidden on each test. Wishing for the best outcome for you.

    Dear Alice
So sorry that you don't have any definitive answers yet, know how worrisome that is for you and hubby.

I guess the up side is that since the one they did biopsy didn't show on the mamo, at least it did on the ultrasound...don't want to miss any spots to check.

Hope that they can do detection on the other with non-invasive procedure.

Prayers that all turns out to be AOK.

    MRI on Friday
I have a bilateral breast MRI scheduled for Friday morning, and see the breast specialist next week.

Thanks for all of your support. I've had a few years of all going well. But now, at least for the short term, I'm slogging through again.

Great news on the first biopsy, now let's hope that Friday's news plus next week's news is just as good.
