Coming up on one year- what to do?

Well this time a year ago my father was just placed on hospice, and he passed on September 6. While I have taken that day off from work and am having a Mass said for him and my mother (her birthday would've been September 13), besides visiting them at the cemetery, are there any other ideas out there? How do people handle the one year anniversary?

    Get together with family
We have rituals to get togehter with family/friends on the 1 year anniversay in addition to mass and prayer at the cemetry with a priest. We will use the gathering to share good foods and memories (celebrating life!)

    Thanks! Later in the day
Thanks! Later in the day Thursday, I will be making spaghetti and meatballs just the way my father did and have my brother and his wife over for dinner.

    one year anniversity
Also doing mass, love the favorite meal idea, that is special.

Our goal is "an ordinary day" which is what my husband wanted. We are having a larger get together on his birthday which is only 6 days later. On that day, I have made a photo of his favorite golf course hole, and we are going to pass it among us once a year, when we get together.

    How it went....
Thursday morning, as Mass started, I became a crying, blubbering mess. I did okay at the cemetery. Spaghetti turned out great, I think the best batch I've made since Dad died.
I'm just glad I made it through the first year, it's said that it's always the hardest.
