Sounds like you have a full agenda for this weekend and lots of good food!
This weekend, I absolutely MUST get out and weed the flower beds...the poor plants and flowers are being over-run. Will have to time it for either early morning or late afternoons as the temps here are heating up. Good for those who like to go swimming but not so good for those with outside chores.
I am also working on two crochet projects. One for a neighbor who is always bringing me her left over yarn...this time she will be getting it back in the form of an afghan...lol. The other project is a shawl for a friend's birthday next month.
So I will be busy inside or outside.
Wishing you good eats and good time with your family and friends,
Wow - I don't think my oncologist would have dinner with me. But I did share a quick pasta dinner with my colon cancer nurse navigator when we were picking up packets for our Get Your Rear in Gear teams.
My van has been in the repair shop since early yesterday morning. It was supposed to be done tonight, then they said 9AM tomorrow, and now they say about 10:30AM tomorrow. I'm not counting on anything until they call me. I am supposed to go back to my hometown for a school reunion and to visit family. Not sure if it is going to work out or not. Fingers crossed...
not sure what we are up to this weekend...maybe cleaning out a storage building or completing a few more home improvement projects...whatever it may be I will be with my wonderful husband and it will be a great weekend!
Lucky happy me, with a wonderfull new man in my life. We are spending saturday in the garden, I did already 15 baskets en will do 12 pots on saturday. Sundayafter church, we will be visiting friends who live an hour and a half away. The weather will be just gorgeous, not to warm.
Last week I had a girlfriend visiting from Montreal, I took her through the Rockies, we had a wonderfull time, we even saw a blackbeer, mountain goats, elk and deer.
I am stil celebrating my new NED status.
I wish everybody a wonderfull weekend,
He deserves more...not everyone would let you wrap your arms around their legs and cry while you are on your 10th trip to the bathroom to poo! Just like Martina McBride sings, he's loving me through it. Still haven't figured out how she knew to write a song about my Gary! Enjoy your family and weekend!
Well Pepe, I am finally going home. We have laid my sister to rest and are now dealing with the shock of my nieces, room mates suicide. (my niece passed March 7th). I cant stay for her services. Home is calling loud and clear. i am hoping a trip to the beach will start the healing process. I wish everyone a wonderful weekend. Enjoy every minute with your loved ones.
Hugs, Judy
The fabulous oncology nurses who are the glue to everyones treatments is hosting a picnic on Sunday. My daughter and grand daughter are also driving up from Cincinnati for the picnic. My mother who is a one year Ned colon cancer dx is also attending. I pray everyone has a good weekend.
Hummm. What should I do this weekend? How about check in the hospital at noon. Have a wedge resection on my right lung at 2:20pm. Wake up around 4pm and find out if the nodule is a met from the colorectal cancer (that I didn't even know about until April 21), or if it's a met from the testicular cancer (that I found out about six months ago) or if it is another primary cancer (eg. lung cancer), or if it's nothing. Then I just might stay the night at the hospital, maybe two, probably not getting any sleep. And on Sunday, well, I am pondering the possibility of going to the beach, fishing, playing golf, and maybe sky diving too. :-) Well, maybe I'll just rest on Sunday and try to keep a positive outlook instead.
As per I understand they don't know what it is and you will have any kind of test before isn't ? are you going to have a biopsy ?
In any case wish you the best my friend , will send you my best vibes !.
Hugs!
I'm having the surgery today (Friday) at 2:20pm. They know the nodule has grown from 12 mm to 18 mm. And given it's location a biopsy would be difficult, most likly would have to be a brochial eltro-magnetic guided biopsy. And the surgeon said the possibility of a false negative was not insignificant, and given the history of two cancers the surgeon felt the resection was our best option.
Here in the UK it is a four day weekend to celebrate60 years reign by the Queen. There is a huge flotilla of boats due to go down teh Thames and will be off to mother in law's near London for the traditional street party to mark the occasion (not really a royalist but any excuse for a party seems good).
Finish the weekend with a cocktail of chemo due to be infused Tuesday- our lives are really all a mad mix of life and cancer. Getting the balance right is the challenge!
superb, I hear they are going to use really old boats to carry your royals isn't ? Well enjoy it , and BtW hope relationships between UK and Spain become better after the withdraw of our queen from the celebrations, ( crazy politicians )LOL. Enjoy the parade and make some pics I'm a big Fan of boats and ships!.

Pepe! Have a good time with your family. I am proud to say that the doctor's think they have found a reason for
My persistant coughing.
They think the acid from acid reflux got into my lungs and vocal chords causing coughing ang severe bronchitis, which was not restrained by cough medicines. They haveme on reflux meds and we will see what happens.
All this time and money wasted and all I had to do was go get a box of antacids from the pharmacy?
This weekend I may celebrate. I am trying to be positive about this issue. Now I can't eat big meals. So I shoud be losing more weight. I have had to give away 5 pairs of jeans already and my a** is usually the last to go.
What movie are you going to see?
I have a jamming weekend. Today our twins go from being Daisys to brownies, which is part of the ladder for Girl Scouts. We are having a party here afterwards for the parents and little girl scouts so I'm busy getting things together for that special event. (I REALLY should get off the computer!!!0
Our friends from Barcelona are moving from California to New Jersey, so we are having a dinner for them on Sunday. Think we'll do posole, which is a Mexican yummy soup, almost like a very wet salad it you do it right. She taught me how to make paella, so this is my reciprocal home dish.
I will really miss them. When I was undergoing tx, they would take the girls for the night, and they spent almost every holiday with us for the last three years. Really feel like family members.
will check back in later to see what everyone else is doing.
Prayers and strength to all those in tx.

Well, since Rick is finally feeling better after a terrible two weeks, we're planning to take his kids to lunch then to see the new M.I.B. movie tomorrow. And if he's still feeling well on Sunday, we'll join his family in a multi-birthday celebration for his daughter and two nephews.
Happy weekend everyone! Hope it's a good one for us all. :-)
We sold our home, so we have been homeless for a week. Living at he Marriott right now. Our apt will not be ready until he 9th. Not sure what we are going to do on Monday when we have to move out - totally homeless again. Hopefully we will having something arranged before then.
I've had a good couple weeks, yet a bad couple weeks...
the good... my blood work is good. CEA has gone from 57 to 2.5.
I was to have 4 more weeks of chemo, but they suspended my chemo treatments as the side effects have gotten much too bad.
Feet & hands - Neuopathy has gotten crazier and crazier. Never expected such a side effect.
then, my mouth and tounge, inside of my nose and the watery eyes has gotten to a point of where the doctors said with more chemo, it will be serious. then, the erbitux rash continued to get worse.... so the short of it, no more chemo.
the good of it... they want to do the reconnect of my colon and the removal of the dead tumor in my colon wihtin the next 2 to 3 weeks.
So... this weekend... My son's graduation and a couple graduation parties.
other than that, a LOT of rest and good eating so i don't get sick before the surgery.
this chemo cocktail is really taking its toll on me. its been a very hard couple weeks... and glad to not have the chemo right now.
Tomorrow I'm going to a scrapbooking session to make a paper bag scrapbook. It's for our minister (and my boss and good friend), who is going to a new church in a few weeks.
After that, Bill and I are meeting Rachel and the grandchildren for some shopping and lunch downtown.
I'm going kickstand up tomorrow at 8:30 to head up to Idaho Falls for a beer fest. I'll be over nighting with a bunch of other people and then headed back home on Sunday. Then, Monday morning me and the fur-kid are going to get picked up at 9 to go to a fishing retreat for men with cancer sponsored by Reelrecovery.org at a luxury lodge, all expenses paid. I just wish my dad could go, he probably needs a get away more than I do.
Have a great weekend, all! I'll check in again on Sunday evening!
I don't really like to post "doom & gloom" here but you are my family so hope you will understand. I decided not to have a yard sale because it's so hot here now. Still waiting to hear back about my refinance(trying to survive).
Have also been trying to sustain my son until he could find a job. Well, he started a new job today. He called at 5:30 this morning. His little 23 year old dog has been declining for the past couple of months. She had been in no pain, but was deaf, blind, and no longer able to get around. He hand fed her every day and carried her outside for the bathroom. He was up all night with her as she started to yelp. He decided to go on to the job at 7. He went home on lunch break to check on her and she had passed away not long before he got home. He was devastated as she had been all alone at the time. So, he went back to the job and explained the circumstances. They appeared to be understanding. Meanwhile, I located a vet that would take care of the dog, so we met him there and I paid the proper fees.(Thank you, Discover Card) He just didn't have the heart to have her put down before this, as she was receptive to his touch and caring for her needs, and was not in any pain.
Spoke to JBG today. She is also having a lot of financial difficulty and wanted some "motherly" advice. So far, I'm batting zero on that score, but I offered my opinion. She will be having a ct scan on Tuesday, so please everyone, send good vibes, prayers for that. We'll know if this regimen of Xeloda/Avastin is still holding the lung tumors and possible new liver tumor at bay.
Hubby is still having vitreous hemorrhaging in right eye and is now going blind in that eye. Have been to 5 opthamologists/retina specialists with no cause found. None feel that it is diabetes related.
So, that is my weekend so far. Pretty crappy and still one day left. I try to have a positive outlook, especially as I watch all of you weather so many storms, but sometimes it is very hard. I just wish my family would get a "small" break. Also wish I'd been born rich instead of beautiful.LOL
Just thanks and hugs from here in the oven. Didn't mean to ruin the weekend post as it's supposed to be a fun post. Just having a really down weekend, but will pull up my bootstraps and forge ahead.
My dear, you have not ruined the post by sharing your feelings.
Yes, it is always nice to see what fun folks can dream up for the weekend. However, it is not always an up time for everyone.
A big part of our participation here is to give and receive support, and this was just time when you needed rather than being the giver.
I pray that your and JBG's financial situations may have a good outcome. It seems more and more folks with medical issues are finding themselves in this boat.

So, that is my weekend so far. Pretty crappy and still one day left. I try to have a positive outlook, especially as I watch all of you weather so many storms, but sometimes it is very hard. I just wish my family would get a "small" break. Also wish I'd been born rich instead of beautiful.LOL

Dear Wolfen
My dear, you have not ruined the post by sharing your feelings.
Yes, it is always nice to see what fun folks can dream up for the weekend. However, it is not always an up time for everyone.
A big part of our participation here is to give and receive support, and this was just time when you needed rather than being the giver.
I pray that your and JBG's financial situations may have a good outcome. It seems more and more folks with medical issues are finding themselves in this boat.
Hugs and love to you and all the family,
Marie who loves kitties
