So I got my CT Report......

I was slightly dissappointed, I will admit. I was hoping for a complete response with the two cycles of 5-FU I've had , but that was not the case. I do have some shrinkage but nothing has disappeared. I guess I'll just keep on fighting. My naturopath has put me on modified citrus pectin and some type of mushroom blend and I hope for good results when I do another follow up CT in Sept:) Have my appointment Dr. Lenz in two weeks and I hope he will give me some other treatment options, I'm alittle anxious about the appointment though. I just hope he's not like my current oncologist and states that nothing else can be done at this time. Fear is crazy isn't it?? Anyways, thanks for letting me share my news and even when I do not post( I lurk ) you guys are always on my mind, cheering for your victories, shedding tears for those we loss and always hoping for the best for all of us:) Melissa

    Hoping for good results
    Dear Melissa,

I hope that as you progress with more treatment cycles you will find much better results.

Praying that Dr. Lenz has some good options for you to explore.

    Hugs,

    Chaga
Melissa, i'll bet your mushroom regime has chaga in it. I've been taking chaga pills for months, and i feel amazing. I noticed a change a few months after taking it; those herbal remedies take time to actually work. Chaga is referred to as the King of Herbs in Chinese medicine, and is known to be a destroyer of cancer. I'll bet you get major shrinkage of those tumors in September!

    Hugs!

Melissa did you really expect a complete response with only two
cycles?. That would be a miracle ,you say has been some shrinkage so who is telling you can't get expected results in 6 or more rounds?if chemo is working why to change it? actually is the first time I hear that they make an scan after only two rounds!. be patient Melissa chemo is working ,actually in my last recurrence it toke 7 rounds for a complete response and doctors consider it a great, great unusual response to chemo! Be patient!.

I am so American!! Must of us want instant results (maybe it has to do with me being a product of generation Y) But you are so right. Patience is what I need to work on, but...... I want it NOW!! LOL

I would never change my chemo while is working properly!
Imagine you change and the new does not work! we got a problem there, I would suggest to wait for the next scan you will see great results I'm sure!
But just my opinion and experience !.don't expect miracles just live the chemo work! Hugs dearest!

    Shrinkage
Well, I think shrinkage is good! Seems like a positive turn of events, anyway. Praying for even better results next time!

    Well, Melissa

You are indeed a product of the "I want it now" generation:)

Time and Patience are the keys.

You know I haven't been doing mine for fun these past 7 years, right? :)

Final resuts are in my latest post "Sundance vs Cancer" if you want to check it out.

Stay with it, you're doing good. And tumor reduction is always a nice thing to hear.

Since you've got my back, you know I got yours. Just keep a good attitude, read my post...it will put some perspective into your fight - I think it will help you with the mental aspects of where you are.

I almost spoiled my post, I had to stop - but let me leave you with "One Word."

    PERSEVERANCE

You stay with me and I'll keep you propped whenever you need it.

    -Craig:)

    Good news
Shrinkage is good Melissa, very good. I know we all want it gone but getting smaller can be on the way to gone. Thinking of you.

    Dear Melissa
I feel for you ... but like pepe said, we have to be patient. Besides, think of the positive sign that they have some shrinkage!

Good luck to your CT in Sept!

I'm also hoping for the best for all of you!

    Fear is crazy isn't it??
    hi melissa,

you'd be crazy if you had none. fear is normal, it means you value your life.
keep positive, dream your tumours away, it cannot hurt mentally encouraging your tumours away with 5fu. don't be disappointed remember they are fighting as hard to survive as we are and can evolve see charles darwin for details.

seeing lenz should be interesting. been on mcp for 5 months now.
lisa42 had some comments re lenz, they may be of interest.

    love the heart at sunset.

    goodluck

    hugs,
    pete

    Hey Melissa...I have a
Hey Melissa...I have a question please? When you say 2 cycles do you mean that cycles are complete cycles or rounds consisting of the 6 prescribed treatments or however many your onc ordered? Or is the 2 cycles 2 times you have been in to get your chemo? Sorry if the question sounds ditzy...I get confused sometimes with those terms.

I hope everything works out for you. I think about you and what you have been through and think you are an amazing lady!! I wish the best of the best to you my dear.
