Medi's latest (mis) adventure...

Hiya! A few weeks ago I got ill, very ill. Weakness, shortness of breath, no appetite...blah blah. I stayed home from work and one day I tried to drive my daughter to work and almost took out half the town. I stopped by my office, then went to bed (at home) and there I would have stayed exept some lunatic (my boss) started knocking on the door telling me to come out. Well as you can probably figure out, he drug me (or what was left of me) to the ER to see if they could pump some life into me. They immediately started fluids, I was dangerously dehydrated...if you remember I always had troouble with that. My calcium count was out of the ballpark though and that was worrisome. My retired Oncology man got wind of me being in there and sent in his cohort who was VERY serious. He told me I was very sick, but I had been there 3 days already and was figuring that out. The nice ER doctor (who never mentioned the C word) said if I was good I could go home eventually. The very serious doctor mentioned the dreaded word and I was like 'really?'. uh-uh. He mentioned something about calcium leaching from my bones signalling bone cancer. hhhm. He said he would check on me in a few days. I was aleady black and blue and full of IV's when some VERY young and serious nurse came to give me my heperin shot in the belly and screwed it up. Boy did I scream! It hurt like crazy and she was the one who started to cry! That night they moved me down to the 5th floor. Party floor. Where no one could hear me scream! Then someone thought 'hey lets give her a blood transfusion' oy vey. That's illegal in my religion but what the heck, I could always apologize later. Then the ER doctor came back and asked how I was. Well enough to be bored stiff. He said he didn't know what the cancer docs had planned for me and I assured him it was more torture and why didn't he just sign some papers and let me go home to the dogs and kitties? He said maybe and left. Well my phone broke the day I was admitted and I had no computer and my daughter wrote on Facebook that I was in the hospital with a mystery illness so of course half the town had me dead. I had to get home.
SO the next day Dr. Serious came in and I told him I did not have cancer and please send me home and then I made a deal. I would let him do a bone marrow biopsy to PROVE I was okay if he would let me go home. I must say if I die tomorrow I will just be happy I got to experience this god-awful test and know how lucky I am it is over...I DID go home (dancing believe it or not) and went to see the doc a few days later and he told me the test was clear. No kiddin...
Cheers!

    Never a dull moment...
You have such interesting adventures and it sounds like there is never a dull moment in your household :)

It sounds like a very long, painful ordeal but am happy to hear that you are doing better now and I hope you behave yourself so you can stay that way.

Stay well and stay out of trouble,

    the boss
Yes he was a good friend before he became the Boss. Geez, everything that happens to me now, cancer is the first thing that pops into one's head.
    Thanks!

    Thanks Chad and C
Hopefully I will be here to annoy one and all for a very long time...;) Btw the cats were very happy to see me (they got into my paint tubes and spread them all over the place and got footprints on a canvas). They were very pleased with themselves.
