small bowel adenocarcinoma

In 1999 I was diagnosed with jejunal adenocarcimoma. In Oct, I had a bowel resection, followed up with 7 weeks of radiation with a 24 hr continous infusion of 5FU, then 6 months of chemo (5fu,lv and cpt 11). CTs have been clear for the past 3 years. Then 2 weeks ago, Jan. 2003, I had an enlarge lymph node in my neck biopsied. It proved pos. At this point we're not sure if it is a met or thyroid cancer. More tests this week should provide that answer.
Is there anyone out there with a similar situation. I am looking for new treatments.
Would appreciate hearing from you. You may answer here or email me at vbicocca@goldrush.com.
Thank you,
Vince

Yes, finally found someone with what my 33 y/o wife has - Jujenal Adenocarcinoma. Diagnosed and Resected in May 2003, but it had spread to one lymph node. Adjunctive chemo followed( 5FU/Leucavorin followed) and lump #2 then was found and resected from fatty tissue in the abdomen in Feb '04. December '04 lump #3 showed up in the rectus muscle. I really need to talk to you, as you are the first person that we have found with this same problem. My e-mail is honorabley@aol.com

    Hi ,
I was diagnosed last Easter with Jujenal (small bowel) cancer after an operation to remove an obstruction . i underwent 6 months of chemo using Folfox and was cleared in Feb '09 by CT scan , bloodwork , colooscopy and endoscopy . Now , I have a tumor on an ovary and will undergo a full hysterectomy on friday 15th . Doctors say it is a secondary .
How has your wife faired since your post in '05 ?

    Welcome!
Hi Katrina! I noticed you were responding to a post written in 2005 and I'm not sure that person is still around on this board. I can't be sure, but I haven't seen any posts by him in the last year or so. He did leave his email address, so you might want to try posting an email to him... then again, you never know, someone else with a similar tumour might be around now. It sounds like the chemo you were on was the same that a lot of us have been on for colon cancer and rectal cancer.

Anywho, I didn't want you to think you were being ignored if the person didn't answer you. It could be he isn't around to see your post. But welcome aboard!!

    Huggggggs,

    Cheryl

    Gail,
This is a very rare cancer. Try a post on the rare and other cancers forum http://csn.cancer.org/forum/130

Best of luck to you and your husband.
