To RE...
Hi, RE. I am so very sorry about the entire "Kourtnee10" scam. I feel so bad for you, and many others... :-( You stated in another post that you're going to take a break over the weekend, which is certainly understandable. I've been within the group not even 2 weeks yet, and am devastated that this happened. I hope you'll…

how can we believe anything
I hope no one is offended by my reaction to the 'Kourtnee' matter, but how can we believe anything this person says? She could be telling the truth, but she could not be. I feel like this whole thing is one giant hoax. The thing that makes me the most angry is that when I heard 'Kourtnee' had died, I immediately started…

another thing I had to find out on my own/ER pos. PR neg/significance
Yet another thing no doctor explained to me (Okay, I did not ask, but how would I know to ask?). For some time I have been thinking about the fact that my cancer was considered HIGHLY estrogen positive, but HER2negative and PR negative. Up till now, I thought the PR neg. part was not too important because the most…

It should go without saying that I love you all, and enoy your posts and am for the most part encouraged and upbuilt by who you are, and all of your struggles to Kill the Beast and have the Life After Cancer we all richly deserve. I also hope you can say the same of me... I have been a member of CSN since 2003; you can…

Chemo postponed until Tuesday
We met with the Onc today and when Moop reported some shortness of breath, he decided to order precautionary tests to make sure there is no blood clot. He doesn't think there is any problem, but he wants to make sure. So Moops is getting a CT scan today and another scan Monday. Better safe than sorry!

Sending cards to Kourtnee's Family
Melody~ That Kourtnee's life here with us on the boards came to such an abrupt end has many of us reeling. I know from the posts that she was estranged from her family; yet at the proverbial end of the day, they have lost a daughter. With that in mind, I was wondering if you would possibly share with us the family's…

Tamoxifen or Not?
I had a lumpectony and am currently in radiation. When I finish radiation treatments, my oncologist wants me to try Tamoxifen. I really don't want to inre to all of the side effects it has given to a lot of women, let alone blood clots and uterine cancer. The Tamoxifen will only lower my percentage of a recurrence by 6%.…

Best wishes for your last chemo tomorrow, Jackie!
Tomorrow our beloved sister in pink, Jackie, will be having her last chemo session. As we know, it hasn't been easy, but we all knew she would make it with grace and courage and, of course, her amazing sense of humor. Dear sister Jackie, both Joe and I know that you'll have to take a rain check on the big party, but we…

Hans update #4
WHEW! It's been a wild few weeks! Hans is doing better and better. He is capable of functioning at 'normal' levels...the only thing missing is his incredible retention (he could quote you on something you said to him, 10 years ago, word for word). But, he is better. He ended up with a stress ulcer, and, after 4 failed…

Quercetin + Vitamin C

Animal studies also show that Quercetin can work against tumors. These supplements are sold everywhere at vitamin stores. I'm looking…

Ovaries and Tubes Removed While on Tamoxifen?
I have read on another board where a lot of women seem to have their ovaries and tubes removed after they are on Tamoxifen. And, they say Tamoxifen can cause uterine cancer. Is a hysterectomy something anyone here has done as a result of Tamoxifen or as a precaution? I am just trying to get some answers from real, live…

Zometa
I'm sure this topic has already been discussed here, but at the time, it didn't apply to me, so now that it does, I'd like some info. I will be having just two infusions a year. Wondering about side effects, etc. I am so stupid, when the doctor informed me of this yesterday, I was just like, "Oh. OK." I didn't even ask any…

How do you decide if a mastectomy is right for you?
I was told at first a total mastectomy of the left breast is what I could expect. Then told that I might consider having a complete mastectomy of both breast. Then later after the AC chemo treatment that a lumpectomy might be possible. Then after the MRI after that treatment that there is still some lumps in the breast but…

Choose to have chemo?
Well, the Oncotype DX on the left tumor was low (9), so I figured no chemo. The score on the tumor in the right breast came back at a 16--that iffy range where they don't really make clear recommendations. I will meet with my oncologist tomorrow to gather more information, but she told me on the phone today, there is no…

"full body check"
My oncologist suggested I have a full body check at the dermatologist ... since I'd never had one. I had my appointment this morning and am relieved that everything is fine. All of those moles/freckles/age spots etc. etc. etc. were "normal." The interesting thing was that she noticed the dryness on my hands ... the rash on…
