My Step Daughter had Myeloma Cancer and then MS but not at the same time.   It seems to me that you should be able to ask your Oncologist about this and don't blame you at all for your concerns of course.  Keep checking in here and posting and maybe someone will know more than I do.  My Step Daughter is still with us and she has been fighting this for over 25 years now.   Prayers for you for Strength and for Answers to your questions.  Glo

Thank you. I have had MS for over 20 years and wasso proud of myself to have been able to take myself off all meds (against my Neurologists advice) 1 month later my memory came, my legs walk straight and I feel 100% better. I still have fatigue and sometimes walk wobbly but I am so much better off being off the drugs. That is why this treatment goes against everything in me. I thnk I will ask for some thime to absorb and think this through. I am feeling overwhelmed. I normally wear rose colored glasses and always wear a smile. I did ask my Onc. and she said one of her MS patients went back into a wheelchair and they other one is not faring well. That makes me want to say NO to everything.This is a huge decision.

In 2005 I was diagnosed with MS. I started taking Rebif. About 4 years later I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a complete axillary dissection, right mastectomy, port implanted, 16 rounds of chemotherapy and 2 reconstruction surgeries. I did not have radiation and since I was triple negative I did not have any hormone therapy. Yes indeed, I hit the medical jackpot. I took the Rebif for the first several rounds of chemo and then made the decision to take a Rebif sabbatical during the remainder of my rounds of chemo. My oncologist and neurologist kept in touch with each other during my treatment. In fact, one of chemo drugs was altered specifically because I had MS. I was very fortunate in that I did not have any issues I could relate to my MS during my breast cancer treatment. I know that not everyone is so lucky in that regard. I also participate in an MS discussion board similar to this breast cancer board. There are several threads there devoted to MS and Breast Cancer. Take a look at www.msworld.org/forum.

I would be happy to answer any questions you might have and see if I can be of any help. It IS doable. I wish you the best of luck.
