Asking for Prayers, and Good Thoughts for my husband -- Sisters in PINK

*I realize we are all dealing with many issues .. I did not want to post, but a good friend of mind here on our site reminded me that we are family and we share in happiness, sadness and hope for a brighter future.

Last Wednesday during a walk, my husband, Pete walked into a tree branch .. within a few hours we found ourselves at the ER. Hours later having been told that my husband 'iris' had been damaged -- I set out on a journey of locating specialists -- 9 hours in traffic and 2 days spent in exam rooms -- my dear husband has a detached retinal, pressure issues (should be no higher than 18, Pete's eye pressure is at 32) ..blood vessel issues as well, -- which means Pete can go blind at any time.

I realize that we can all live with the sight of 1 eye, however, Pete lost more than 70% of his sight in his right eye, due to a childhood injury.

Emergency surgery is pending .. and the inflammation of Pete's eye. Dr. Kerry Assil will perform Pete's surgery at 10:00 p.m. due to the severity of our situation. First surgery will be to replace Pete's lens -- in hopes of saving and protecting his iris, as well as getting embedded debris from his eye. 2nd and possible 3rd surgery pending.

Please keep us in good thoughts and prayers this week.

    Oh Vicki, my best prayers and most positive thoughts are on their way for you and your husband. I pray that the surgery will go smoothly, that the doctors hands are able to repair all the damage, and that recovery is swift and painless.

    This is definitely something that should be shared. It won't change anything but getting to express what is going on and knowing that our response is to ralley around you is good for your spirit. Your hubby will be in my prayers and in everyone else's. I hope that the surgeries are very successful and he does not lose the sight in that eye. I do know that whatever the outcome you will be there for him and you will deal with this with the strength and courage that you possess. My heart is with you and him and again, prayers for the best outcome.

    I hope the doctors will be able to save your husband's eye. I really appreciate you posting this because I have lots of trees on my property and you have just alerted me to the dangers of not cutting the lower branches. I never would have thought of that. Please keep us posted when you can. We are here for you!
