I was diagnosed with scc of the nasal/septum area in dec 2009,since then i've had my nose removed with a sub total rhynectomy, reconstruction using skin and bone, vein from my left arm, have had nodes removed from my neck, survived radiation treatment in may/june 2010,several operations to keep shaping my nose with more to come,I've still got a metal frame screwed to my face to maintain the shape whilst the bone grows, pain patches ro keep me from climbing the wall because it is like a tightness that just keeps on going and going and this constant fear that if i bump my nose the metal frame will go through my skull but besides all of that I'm glad to be still hear.

I had my 95% of my tongue removed and replaced with parts from my thigh. Also 2 neck disections with nodes removed. Along with chemo and radiation. I have had 1 operation to shape my tongue so i can now swallow. I have 1 more operation scheduled for July or August to finish shaping my tongue and then i should be done. A not so gentle reminder
of how devastating this cancer can be and an appreciation of how strong the human spirit can grow. My humble hat off to both of you!

    Thanks.
Hi john,I've always been a fighter have never given up on anything,i came into this world with no chance of survival, survived three serious road accidents an industrial explosion in which my mate was killed and i made it out, blood clots in my body and a host of potential situations that luck played a part in it because of the work I use to do,so this cancer is another chapter and i draw strength from past predicaments.
