Road trip Wednesday afternoon

Wednesday afternoon, after we get Traci back from her next clear mammo, I am leaving on another road trip. I am bringing Moopy's cremated remains up to Winona, Minnesota, where they will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, next to my Mom's grave. Dad and I will be there too, by and by.

Moopy directed me last year to purchase the plot next to my parents' because she knew how important it was to me that we be buried in Winona. When the time came. It came a lot faster than we expected, but that is the story of how my pretty little Southern Belle from Lawrenceburg, Tennessee is coming to rest up in the frozen North.

Our dear friend Sr. Pauline will be offering a short memorial service immediately before the burial at 11 am. My cousin Judy will be hosting an informal family gathering afterward. All of you are invited to hop into the VW with Pauline and me. Good behavior is optional; actually, I will be interested in seeing if any of you can outtalk the good Sister. Even by Irish standards, she's a chatty one.

A little more seriously, if you could just keep Moopy in your thoughts Friday, that would be great. You have all already done so much for the two of us. I have to stop typing now. I love you all.

    It will be a hard trip, I imagine, but rewarding. And you have all of us lighting your way back home.

    may be a tight fit if we are using a VW but I will be there! I don't think I can outtalk the Sister though. I have an Irish friend and I can't outtalk him.

    I will definitely keep you and Moopy in my thoughts on Friday. I know she is always there watching over us.

    of you and Lisa so often Joe. Just the other day I was reading the messages that she had sent me. She would send one sometimes just to see how I was doing. What a sweet lady. And, you aren't bad either!

    I will be with you in spirit on Friday Joe. There is no place I would rather be than with a sweet pink sister taken too soon from us and her beloved husband.

    I hope you make it a positive experience. Don't sadden Moopy,
    tell her about all the amazing things she brought into your life.
    I am sure she already knows, but you know us women we can never
    refuse genuine flattery or a good compliment.

    And on your way home maybe you can think of adventures waiting for
    you in the days ahead. I'd love to hear about them upon your safe return.

    It is so obvious how loved you and Moopy both are. I will be with you in spirit also Joe. Have a safe road trip and know that the pinks sisters are right there with you.

    During the darkest moments, remember to use your flashlight. Both to light your own way, and so that we - including Moopy, from heaven above - can more easily find you when you need us most.

    I will be the quiet, reflective one in the back seat. On a good day, I can outtalk nearly anyone but I don't think I will put it to the test with an Irish sister.
    Know that my heart and prayers will be with you and Moopy. This, to me, is the hardest part. I will say extra prayers for you, dear Joe.
