Casey Alexander Martinez passed tonight

I can't thank each of you enough for your thoughts and prayers in response to my post regarding Casey. The doctors ran another brain scan this afternoon, and determined that he was not improving, and recommended that the respirator be removed. They turned off the machine, and he died at 8:30 PM tonight. We are all heartbroken over this loss, but know that this little angel will be with us forever, and out of pain. I so appreciate everyone for your support, and please know that it has meant a lot to not only myself, but to our family. Arrangements have not been made as of yet. Again, thank you for the many kind thoughts, and the many prayers. He is at peace at last. Hugs.

    I have posted a picture on my Expression page that was taken this past Saturday while we were visiting in Houston. Casey was a dear little boy, and will be truly missed.

    It is a beautiful picture of you and Casey and I know that you will treasure it forever. If I might make a suggestion. You might want to take a small copy of this and put it in a little Christmas frame. That way at the holidays you will always have Casey with you. I am so sorry for your loss and for your family as well. Losing children is the hardest loss we ever have to face and to loss them during a season that should be filled with joy is even harder. I remember someone telling me long ago that when we die we become a star in the heavens and when the stars twinkle that is our laughter. I always found that comforting and sometimes when I look into the night sky and see all that twinkling I cannot help but smile and know that all those we love are laughing and happy. I will be thinking of Casey and hearing that beautiful sound of baby laughter next time I see the stars twinkling in the sky. My heart is with you and may time ease your pain.     Judy, I am so sorry for your loss. I will think of Casey and lift him in prayer and thoughts forever as you and I will hold this day as one that is forever etched in our hearts, you for Casey and I for my sister. You are right he is at peace and he is in good hands until he can again be in your's.

    I too am so sorry
    I am sorry for your loss. Even though we never got to meet Casey personally... we all grew to love him through your posts ... and we know that he is watching over all of us now. From what I've been reading ... many of us sent/received angel ornaments from our "secret sister" ... and now we have a very special angel with a name ... Casey. He's part of our lives and will always have a place in our hearts ... as do you Judy ... and all of Casey's family and friends.

    Nothing will ever replace the presence of that sweet child....he is with the angels now and no longer suffering. So sorry for you and your family from this tragic loss.
