I just received bad news, my father's PSA keeps risen,

My father is 80 years of age with prostate cancer. It has spread to his bones and PSA continues rising. He PSA as of today is 222.2. He is on hormone therapy, Zometa and on casadex, he refuses chemotherapy and is on the list to get Provenge. He is waiting for Provenge, but insurance doesn't approve payment. The Zometa is affecting his kidneys, it's something else to worry about it. I am very worry, that my father is not going to live much longer.

    is he in pain
    My father died from this insidious disease at age 73. He only wanted the pain to end.Hope yours does better and my prayers are with you as I went through this once also.

    Very seldom he gets pain
    NM,

    I am very sorry about your father's passing. It's very hard to see our love ones suffer from this horrible disease.. Thank you very much for your thoughts and prayers. He has two spots on his spine. Thank God the pain comes rarely and he takes a pain medication and goes away. He refuses chemo and we are waiting for the insurance to pay for the new vaccine, Provenge which hopelly prolongs his life.
