LIVER RESECTION OR LIVER ABLATIONS
HI! EVERYBODY ITS ME AGAIN!!
I JUST FINISHED AN ULTRASOUND OF MY LIVER YESTERDAY. THE RADIOLOGIST SAID ITS BEST TO HAVE ANOTHER ALATION. I HAVE AN 2MM SPOT IN THE POSTERIOR RIGHT LOBE. HOWEVER THE ONE NEAR THE MAIN ARTERY THAT THEY THOUGHT WOULD COME BACK HASN'T. THIS MAKES ME FEEL THAT THE ABLATIONS ARE A POSSIBLE SOLUTION - THIS WILL BE MY FOURTH. HE ALSO SAID THAT HAVING A RESECTION LIMITS THE AMOUNT OF AREA THEY HAVE TO WORK WITH IF I NEED ANYTHING ELSE FOR METS. I THOUGHT THE LIVER REPLENISHED BACK. IS THERE ANYONE OUT HERE WHO HAS TAKEN THIS ROUTE BEFORE AN ACTUAL RECOMMNEDATION FOR A LIVER RESECTION? THANKS XOXO

Liver re sectioning/alation
I had both, on August 12 2013.
I have half a liver left. They say that the liver regenerates itself, but it is only in some cases.
i would just do the resectioning so I wouldn't have to keep going through so many ablasion procedures.

I have had 3 liver
I have had 3 liver resections. They took 75% last time and it was 97% regenerated within 6 weeks after surgery each time.
