adenocarcinoma

my mom was just diagnosed with adenocarcinoma in the small intestine. she had done by pass operation. her tumor remained in the duodenum. it cannot be removed because of its location. the tumor lies tha root of the blood vessels. so what is the next procedure we are going to do?

Make sure your mom gets to a major cancer center so that she can be seen by gi/colorectal specialists.  They know of options general oncologists and oncologic surgeons don't know about or don't have experience with.

I went for a second opinion at Vanderbilt and am so glad I did! 

PI was diagnosed with stage 2B ductal pancreatic adenocarcinoma and went through the Whipple procedure. My surgeon at Vanderbilt resected my portal vein to ok sure negative margins. I don't beliethe another surgeon would have done that. 

Second opinions are a must, in my opinion, when you have a rare cancer.
