For those who may not recall, I post about 2 weeks ago that my 50 year old father was diagnosed with stage IIIA colon cancer. It had spread to 3 out of 38 lymph nodes. Doctor ordered the PET scan which he had last Wednesday. Doctor said to call for the results. I've called since Monday and gotten different answers each day and I'm freaking. On Monday, they said they would call me back with results and I never heard anything. On Tuesday, they said my Dad's chart was at a different office, almost 60 miles away, that the doctor brought it with him to review the results and forgot it there, but they would call today with the results. So I called back today and now they are saying they dont give results over the phone. Same nurse each time. My poor Dad is beside himself and his appointement isn't until next Wednesday!
I guess there isn't much of a point to this post, but to get it off my chest. Thanks for listening.

    What ever helps
If the point of your post is to off load and that helps then there is a point! NEver under estimate the value of having some where neutral and noncritical to dump all your crap so you can go back and be a caring daughter to your dad.

    Every little bit helps,

    so frustrating
I know how you feel....waiting for answers and getting the run around. The Dr should just from the beginning tell us we'll give you the results at your next appointment. Then that should be clear. Waiting is bad too so maybe they could move up their date. Pray all is good. Jeff

    Yep can be frustrating
but generally speaking, doctors do not give results over the phone. When they do it in person then all questions can be answered and he can give you a more thorough explanation of the findings and what is seen on the scan.

Try not to dwell on it and make yourself crazy for it changes nothing and you will find out soon enouch.

    Take care - Tina

    Feel free to unload!!! I
Feel free to unload!!! I can understand the frustration. I personally would like the results over the phone, so I can quietly digest whatever the news is on my own, quietly, by myself and think about what my next move is, search options whatever. I HATE HATE HATE the face the face waiting for the oncologist to tell me results....I cannot think and digest what I need to at that point in time...once I enter the Cancer Center my brain seems to be sucked into this vaccuum and I cannot function till I walk out of that building!!! Sorry, I'm unloading now too...just I understand your frustration....wish you all well on this journey and please keep us posted.
