CEA is Up 5. ONC appointment is on Wednesday. I'll find out if the CT picked up anything. Does anyone know, does a CT or the PET picks up a tumor in the colon? Sure wouldn't want for the ONC to wait for it to show in the CT and the whole time its in my intestines!

Also anyone felt any movement in ther large colon. I swear I have something moving inside me. . Right below my right breast feels like a flutter or a baby's foot or hand pushing up on my stomach No, I'm not pregnant. It Doesn't feel like gas at all.

Thanks!

Don't think I'm too crazy here, but look up something called costochondritis. I had this back in December. It causes an inflammation of the cartilage connecting rib to sternum. It felt like a big knot right under my left breast. At least you can see if it matches any of your symptoms.

Hope docs can figure out what is going on with you.

Hi Rachel , I think PET can detect most of the colon but not
all. Praying for a false alarm.

Thanks. I don't have pain, it's more like twitching. Like something is traveling through my transverse intestines.

One thing I have learnt in living with cancer is accepting the imperfection of all the tests. CEA is hugely variable and can rise and fall due to things unrelated to the cancer eg inflammations elsewhere. The PET and CT are also far from perfect- they only pick things up once they excede a certain size and aren't great at looking inside the bowel- colonoscopy is the best way to actually see inside the colon. Many times results are equivocal and add to the burden of living with uncertainty we all share.
It also makes us focus on other symptoms and become very aware of our bodies. Your symtpoms don't sound particularly alarming but are of course worth mentioning to your docs. A mobile sensation in the bowel is unlikely to indicate anything cancerous though.

    Best luck on Wednesday,
    steve

Ct scans have never worked for me...
except when the cancer was very advanced. The most they ever showed was a "thickening" of the colon wall; this was considered (incorrectly) to not be cancer. The PET has picked up everything that turned out to be cancer, plus showed some things that ended up being nothing to worry about. Colonoscopy didn't pick up my tumors, as some were in the small intestine, and this area apparently can't really be accessed by that technique. It might have been able to see my original colon tumor, but I didn't have a colonoscopy prior to dx, so don't know about that. had to fight my onc a bit for it, but I now get only PET scans, and personally feel that in my case it's how I went from being potentially terminal a couple of years ago to NED now. Good luck! Ann

    CT Scans
I'm not sure what the most accurate tool for that is. I usually get the CT Scan of my chest, abdomen, and pelvis (and a small house salad with dressing on the side). I've never experienced the other thing you've mentioned. This may be a shot in the dark but I know you've been anticipating the CEA test and has false alarm with the date a few weeks ago. Any chance it's your nerves?

    I hope all goes well.
    Thinking of you...

These scans, CEA checks ad dr appointments ARE TOO MUCH! Now my broken foot! New job! I need my job, freaking cancer!

Ok, so I ave not gotten that excited on a post, since I lost my last job. I can handle the cancer, it's the time juggling that drives me insane.

I'm in bed, but now I need to do something. Going to paint a cabinet or two. (right in the midde if a kitchen/bath remodel.).

Hey Rachel, have your recent scans shown any spots they've been watching. Also, have you had a colonoscopy in the past year?? Good luck with your scans and onc. appt.

sorry, but you beat me this round
    Rachael,
Trying to look at death with a smile is why I am going that extra mile.
    Some say going mad.

The advice I got very recently from hardcore vegan Doctor may apply to you.
Get to bed at 10pm, sleep 8 hours good sleep. No point doing juice, shops, meditation etc if we don't
Get rest. Rest = time to heal.

Do less things, rest more I have had a one point fall. I am hoping anyway the seriously alternative life style works
    Hugs,
    Pete
Ps focus more on what you can control

    ONC appointment early in the
ONC appointment early in the am! If they find the cancer with the CT on m liver, I will say, let's do radiation first, then think about chemo! This fluttering in my tummy, I am going to ask my ONC about a colonoscopy because it could be a tumor and the food passing is causing the feeling of twitching.

Pete: I didn't get to read this, it was sent my a friend, but thought to share, just in case it's any good.

    Update
Update   Nothing on Ct and my pet decreased.  Going to check thyroid. Doing labs. Waiting one month to see if I need surgery on foot and hernia. Then going in chemo in pill form to see if CEA goes down.    No evidence of cancer.  Yet.   Keep praying!
