Just received from her husband:

"Dear Friends,

I am sad to tell you that Diane passed away this evening (Sunday March 4) after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Funeral arrangements are pending. Please remember her in your prayers.

Jim"

All I can add is that Diane was a LADY. We joined this forum around the same time in 2009 with the same diagnosis of UPSC. She cared about all of us. She fought cancer with grace enduring some very rough treatments including HIPEC and recent lung repair surgery. She often wrote privately to me worried that posting on the board would scare some of us. She was very kind and thoughtful. I just knew her from online chats. We had a common love of kayaking and would talk of taking virtual trips together, buying ice cream cones at the Dairy Queen we constructed along the stream where we took our virtual trips.

I am very sad that we have lost this beautiful sister. She's up there with Linda now!!!

Oh No!

I always loved to see her smiling picture when she posted and her beautiful screen name. She will be missed. Diane and Linda tried many new teratments and gave us so much information.

Mary Ann, I am sorry for your loss too. I know you will miss your private chats with her. (((Mary Ann)))

Also, to Diane's family, I send my condolences and prayers and praying for friends to comfort you, faith to uphold you and loving memories to carry you though this sad time.

Sadly,

Kathy

Saw this post with great sadness; another sister has left our earthbound fold. I joined not long after Diane but immediately related to her with our common history of breast cancer followed by UPSC. I was so impressed with the aggressive treatments she undertook and how well she persevered, recovered, and continued to live on and, then, able to enjoy her daughter's wedding last year despite treatments. She so enjoyed her family and, together, I'm sure they made wonderful memories that will live on in their hearts and minds, and eventually heal the hole her passing has made.

What can I add to that which has already been said by the ladies on this board.? Diane came across as a lovely lady, a fighter, who had grace and courage in the face of this wicked disease. I will miss her posts and the lovely picture of her.
May her family take comfort from knowing how much she was respected here. I hate it that cancer takes away such good people.
In my thoughts and prayers

DO NOT CRY AT MY GRAVE,
I AM NOT THERE,

I AM THE WIND THAT BLOWS,
IN THE MOVEMENT OF THE LEAVES ON THE TREES,
I AM THE SPARKLE OF THE STARS ON A DARK NIGHT,
AND IN THE RIPPLE OF THE MOVING WATERS,

DO NOT CRY AT MY GRAVE,
I AM NOT THERE...

I AM THE LAUGHTER OF CHILDREN,
AND THE COOLNESS OF A SUMMER RAIN,
SEE ME IN THE BEAUTY OF WILD FLOWERS,
AND THE CALMNESS OF THE DAWN,

DO NOT CRY AT MY GRAVE,
I AM NOT THERE...

MY SPIRIT SOARS IN A BETTER PLACE,
WHERE GOODNESS AND PEACEFULNESS LIVES,
I FEEL NO MORE PAIN,
I AM WITH MY CREATOR NOW,
I HAVE GONE HOME.

DO NOT CRY AT MY GRAVE,
I AM NOT THERE.

I have not been on the boards lately and came by to look today. This is very sad news that another wonderful lady has lost the battle. She was such a help to all of us with her sharing her journey and information.

To her family, prayers and healing in this time. May your memories help you in this time of grief but know that she is at peace in the loving arms of our Lord.

Thank you,

We are overwhelmed by the kindness of Diane’s online friends. Diane was an amazing wife, mother, and friend. Her loss leaves an awful void in our lives but it is comforting to know that so many other people also were touched by her presence.

I wish you comfort in your memories of Diane, who of course meant more to you than we can ever know. Thank you for letting us know of her passing. She fought so hard, wanting to be with you as long as she could. Would that you could have had her longer yet.
Peace,
soromer/Kate

I have read Linda's and her comments as each was dying and I knew that there was a part of Diane that was not ready to go but also knew that Linda would be greeting her. It is hard to lose another woman that lived with such joy and shared so openly her struggles with everyone on this site. She will be missed. Please let her family know she will not be forgotten.

It is with great sadness that I read this post. Diane was always posting with knowledge and kindness, which will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathy and prayers go to her family during this very difficult time. I, too, hate this disease more with each passing day! We need to continue fighting, waiting and praying for a cure for this beast soon.

Mary Ann, thank you for posting and keeping us informed.
